"Among all sources of knowledge (vidyas), the Vedas are supreme......"
yo vai rudraH sa bhagavAnyachcha tejastasmai vai namonamaH |" (Atharvasiras Upanishad 2:19)
"He who is Rudra, he alone is Bhagawan (Supreme god). He is the Supreme Light and we salute him again and again".
VidyAsu SrutirutkrishTA rudraikAdaSini Srutau |
tatra panchAksharI tasyAm Siva ityakshara dvayam ||"
"Among all sources of knowledge (vidyas), the Vedas are supreme. In the Vedas, Sri Rudram is supreme. In the Rudram, the Panchakshari mantra (namah SivAya) is supreme and in Panchakshari mantra itself, the two syllables 'Siva' is supreme!"
