Narmadeshwar Shivlings are obtained from the river Narmada in Madhya Pradesh. One need not to do Pran Pratishtha for this particular linga as Shiva said he himself resides in Narmadeshwar linga.
Narmadeshwar Shivlings are considered very auspicious as that are made naturally in the river bed. It is believed that where there is Narmadeshwar Shivling Lord Shiva resides there. One can get rid of all ailments by performing daily pooja of Narmadeshwar Shivlings to achieve success in life. This Narmadeshwar Shivlings also help in maintaining the cordial relation between husband and wife. Couples who keep Narmadeshwar Shivling in their home are blessed with Lord Shiva’s aashirwad.

Although there is different belief that one should keep Shiv linga at home or not,in my personal opinion if one is keeping any God at home they should be given proper treatment,as these are energy,and one should not block that energy by any impurity.
In Shiv purana it is mentioned that one can keep shivalinga maximum up to the length of one finger in the house.
If you keep Shiva linga then daily abhishekam is a must.
