Aravana production resumed at Sabarimala

: Aravana production at Sabarimala, which was stopped on Tuesday, resumed at 1.30 p.m. on Thursday, said Devaswom executive officer V.S. Jayakumar.

Production of aravana was suspended on Tuesday owing to short supply of superior quality sugar candy by the Kumili-based High Range Marketing Society, which has undertaken the contract to supply the material to the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), the executive officer said.

The sugar candy supplied by the society was rejected by the quality control team of the Food Safety Department, forcing the TDB to directly purchase the material from the local market on Wednesday and Thursday, the executive officer said.

Cine actor Jayaram and his son, Kalidas, took part in the one-hour Punyam Poonkavanam cleanliness programme held at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam on Thursday.

The actor, along with his son, offered prayers at Lord Ayyappa Temple on Wednesday evening.

The Punyam Poonkavanam programme was launched by the Police department three years ago. Government employees and various other agencies as well as VIPs visiting the temple have been taking part in the cleanliness drive. at the hill shrine. -TheHindu

I believed, it was important that Shiva’s endearing mythology, as well as His scintillating spirituality, both needed to be known. The twin wings that make the truly ethereal flight He eternally embarks upon. It became my call to write a book that gives equal emphasis to Shiva’s story, and, reveals the fabulous mystic that He is, and indeed, has always been."

To answer the difficult Question if God Has A body or is formless, the Rishis of Kashmir say simply " Both"
The Supreme consciousness from which all 'life stuff' is made,
is called differently as Omkar, Tao, Buddhafield, God. 
Since it is formless, it is also referred to, as Nir Akar.
Being timeless, it is called Akaal. The Rishi called it Siva Tattva.
From this ONE, all things came to life, big or small, Great or humble,known or then obscure.
All Jiva comes from Siva Tattva!
But then there is also Siva, The Yogi, who has a Form.
And Who is This Yogi? are there two Sivas?
Sastras say Siva The Yogi is He, who Knows the Siva Tattva the most! He is always immersed in Meditation, no matter what he may be seen to do outwardly. He is the One, always immersed in the awareness of the One!!
He is Siva, the auspicious, with his supreme knowing of Godness, Siva is always blessing all of life. Aum Namah Shivaya!

You are the supreme knowledge of self, all our selves, and the whole cosmic self.
You remain absorbed in transpersonal meditations for our growth.
If this is not enough, finally, you neutralize the wrongs committed by your children, this is your inevitable cosmic action.
Therefore, although you contain the whole universe, although you are the Supreme God, yet, you are a yogi too, remaining always absorbed in Godhood.

Help desk for Sabarimala pilgrims at Kochi airport

Kochi: A help desk has been set up at the International Airport here to provide all help to pilgrims who travel by flights from various overseas and domestic destinations to offer worship at the famous hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala.

The help desk, set up jointly by Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), which administers various temples, including the Sabarimala shrine, and Dhanlakshmi Bank, was inaugurated by board President M P Govindan Nair at a function here.

There had been 'a huge influx' of pilgrims from Singapore and Malaysia and a help desk would ensure all assistance to them, Nair said.

Various prasad coupons would be available at the help desk, which will function from 9 AM to 10 PM, a press release said.

Lakhs of devotees undertake the pilgrimage to the temple during the two-month long annual 'Mandala-Makaravillku' festival, which started on November 17.

Samsara then, means that the created world is actually a mirror of God Himself. Sabarimala: 13 inebriated pilgrims arrested

Thirteen pilgrims, who came to the famous hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa here to offer worship allegedly in an inebriated state, have been arrested, police said today.

The pilgrims, who were picked up from different places including Nadapandhal, Mallikapuram and near the 18 holy steps, were carrying the 'irumudi' offerings to be made at the Ayyappa shrine, when they were arrested, police said. All the pilgrims hail from Kerala.

The devotees are required to follow 41-day fast prior to the pilgrimage and abstain from consuming non-vegetarian food, alocohol and tobacco.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old Sabarimala pilgrim from Andhra Pradesh died of a cardiac arrest at a hospital here.

3. I have no hatred, nor the affiliation, nor the greed nor the delusion, nor the haughtiness, nor the feeling of envy. I am not the dharma, nor the money nor the kaama nor the moksha. I am indeed, eternally blissful Shiva - love and happiness.

4. Nor am I the merit , nor the dismerit. I do not commit sins or good deeds. Nor the happiness, nor the sorrow. I do not need mantra, holy places, veda and yagnas (sacrifices). I (the triplet) do not consume anything nor am I consumable, nor I am consumptions I am indeed, eternally blissful Shiva - love and happiness.

5. I do not have fear of death(I do not have death) and no separation from my true self, no doubt (about my existence), nor have I the discrimination on the basis of birth . I have no father, no mother, nor did I have a birth. I am not the relative , nor the friend, nor the Guru, nor the disciple. I am indeed, eternally blissful Shiva - love and happiness.

6. I am all pervasive. I am without any attributes , and without any form . I am always in equilibrium. Nor I have the attachment to the world, nor liberation(Mukti). I do not have wishes for anything because I am everything, everywhere, everlasting-always in equilibrium. I am indeed, eternally blissful Shiva - love and happiness.

Sabarimala festival season begins on a high

Sabarimala (Kerala): Five days after the famed Sabarimala temple opened this season, collections recorded have gone up by 22 percent as compared with the same period last year, according to temple authorities.

It was last Monday that the temple doors opened to the pilgrims for the two-month-long Sabarimala festival season. Last season during the first five days the total collections by sale of appam and aravana (payasam) was Rs 1.43 crore and this time it has jumped to Rs 2.64 crore.

The temple authorities said that compared with the previous season, there has also been a 20 percent increase in the number of pilgrims arriving during the same period.

Situated on the mountain ranges of the Western Ghats at an altitude of 914 metres above sea level, the Sabarimala temple is located four km uphill from Pamba in the Pathanamthitta district, which is around 100 km from the capital city.

The temple, which bars the entry of women who have attained puberty, is accessible only on foot from Pamba.

Last season, the official estimates reveal that more than 4.5 million pilgrims visited the temple and this year the authorities are expecting an increase of 10 percent.  -zeenews.india.com

It caught my eye, and sent me into a deep reflection on the Nature of the Lord. Shiva is giving with both hands,and this is an adage in Hinduism " to give alms with both hands", it denotes complete generosity.
But there are also two arms open in embrace, and two more pointed to the sky above..
To me, in Lord Shiva's love and understanding, Richness has always meant something more than just money: it is about abundance.
Abundance is a more Divine phenomenon. When we have money without divinity, we can forget the real purpose of material things and life itself.
But when we have money with divine compassion, like Shiva's two arms in open embrace, it becomes abundance.
To always remember God in the transcendent , even when we enjoy the material world, This, is real Bhakti of Shiva.
It seems to me the lesson Shiva was giving to The mother goddess of wealth and His own minister with finance portfolio!

Lord Shiva is the Ultimate Reality. He is both Yogeshwara (Supreme deity of all yoga paths) and Yogishwara, i.e. the Master and teacher of all Great yogis(yoga practitioners/Masters). So, we all meditate on him. In Kundalini Yoga, we merge with Lord Shiva by the help of his consort, Mother Kundalini(Shridevi Parvati).

Generally, in any Lord Shiva’s picture we see him in a sitting posture engrossed in deep meditation. This is somewhat puzzling! Right?

So, we are now very curious to know:

Whom does the Lord Shiva meditate upon?

It is both funny and intriguing question indeed! Short answer: Lord Shiva meditates upon himself. Now, let us delve into greater depths.

Lord Shiva is the full and complete Ultimate Reality himself. There is no need to meditate on anybody else! In other words, he is always happy and contented being himself. So, he doesn’t have to do anything to seek happiness anywhere outside.

Everything resides within him. So,there is no object of meditation. He is the one and only subject. There is no external object. Here is another interesting question:

You said “Lord Shiva meditates on himself”. But, why?

The supreme bliss(ananda) is the essential nature of Lord Shiva, who is also the Universal Self. It is the Lord’s nature to dwell in his own bliss. According to Scriptures Shaiva agamas, Lord Shiva is static and his dynamic power is Devi Parvathi. So, he sits and meditates. He carries out various activities through his power, i.e. Devi Parvati.

THE POINT OF BEING ONE!!

A beautiful Picture. Parvati is meditating intensely on Her Lord Shiva. And there comes a point, when the two are One. Note the beautiful moon of Shivji sliding onto her forehead, and also the third eye on her.And then the great realisation that Shiva and shakti are ONE .Like the sun and its warmth, the moon and its coolness. They have always been One! but the point at which this great truth is realised, is the point of Samadhi, of transcendence. It is denoted by the little Bindu on top of the mystic ॐ ,
