Kind hearted Shiva! Shiva is called Bholenath as he grants wishes easily. The simple God who symbolises divine compassion

Har Har Mahadev Bholenath Shambhu, Kind hearted Shiva! Shiva is called Bholenath as he grants wishes easily. The simple God who symbolises divine compassion. Boons are often given pleased with the austerities and penance donein worship of Shiva. Many a times the devotees worldly or egoist demands are also satisfied. He granted boons to Ravana without prejudice or hesitation who was his biggest devotee. Once he gave a boon to Bhasmasura as desired by him, namely that whatever he touched should be reduced to ashes. Immediately on getting the boon he lost his sense of gratitude to Shiva. He wanted to place his hand on Shiva himself! Seeing Shiva's plight, Lord Vishnu came to help him. He changed himself into a beautiful young maiden, Mohini. Bhasmasura was smitten by Mohini's beauty and asked her to marry him. Mohini agreed to marry him, but she had a condition. She asked Bhasmasura to touch his head and promise her that he would not marry again if she became his wife. Bhasmasura agreed. As soon as the foolish demon touched his head, he was reduced to ashes. That is how Vishnu succeeded in saving Bholenath from Bhasmasura.
