THE WORLD SHOOK.

Photo: THE WORLD SHOOK.

A complex scene that depicts the Death of Sati,
The mayhem that followed Daksha's arrogant behaviour. Shivji and His ganas went on a cosmic rampage, destroying all that came in their way.The very equilibrium of the world was threatened. Ultimately Brahmaji and Vishnuji prevailed upon Lord Shiva to spare the lives of the innocents on this earth. and Shivji walked away with Sati's body into the Wilderness, becoming an extreme recluse, the Universe witnessed an altogether different dimension of Vairaag. This was Vairaag from all the things the whole world could offer, if there was no Sati. There again vishnuji cut the body of Sati with his chakra into 51 parts.Wherever the parts fell down, the Earth took them in its fold in the greatest Veneration and they became the shakti peeths, and are respected till today.

Now take another look at the scene and note
that although it depicts the Death of Sati at one level, but there is also the eternal Durga at another ! Sati means 'she who is" the word comes from SAT , truth, and the message is that Shakti of Shiva can never end, This is the Cosmic truth. It is Durga jagdambe Herself who is the Shakti of Shiva, it is she who is Sati, she whois parvati! Aum Namah Shivaya! Jai Durga Ma!
