Please say something about being religious
Please say something about being religious
Q: Please say something about being religious.
Guruji : Purity in heart. Clarity in mind. Spontaneity in action. This is what religiosity is supposed to bring. Being religious means being righteous and preserving the traditions, doing your prayers. More important than this is spiritual upliftment.

Q: If opposite values are complementary, then am I good, bad, or am I both?
Guruji : Why do you put a label of ‘good’ or ‘bad’ on yourself? Remove it off and be natural, be at peace. When we assume a negative quality as our own, we feel guilty, and when we assume a positive quality as our own, then we become proud. Both of these are signs of being mentally unhealthy. Surrender both the negative and positive qualities to the Divine. A person who is surrendered will be good. Surrender brings focus and character in life. Without the development of these two, life is directionless. Even a little bit of sacrifice helps an individual to blossom. Without sacrifice, the glow does not come up. Sacrifice does not lead to a long, sorrowful face. Renunciates are joyful, whereas the kami (one filled with desires) feels burdened and sad.

A Friend Suddenly Acting Funny - Find Out Why
Viparyaya means the mind making up its own universe, which is very different from what actually is in reality.
You have an inferiority complex and you suddenly see someone's behavior to be very arrogant. They are not arrogant, you are not ill-treated by them but you suddenly feel that you have been ill-treated.
You feel that you have not been respected. Because you don't respect yourself enough, you think others do not respect you. This tendency of your mind is Viparyaya.
Others will be shocked with your behavior. They will say, 'What happened to this person?! Till now they were alright. Suddenly they started behaving very funny.'
Have you noticed this? A friend of yours suddenly starts behaving very funny and very rude, and you wonder, what has happened, what did I ever do to this person. You do not understand that they are cooking in the soup of their own mind. Why? Not that they are bad or anything. It is just this activity of the mind that is predominant, which is called Viparyaya.

Hardship makes you deep, and strong. Sadness, and joy are complementary. Happiness causes expansion but misery brings a depth. Both are necessary.
