Pauri Wala Temple, considered as Swarg Ki Seedhi, steps to heaven by the devotees is a much revered holy place in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. It's believed that impressed by Ravana’s penance and austerity Lord Shiva bestowed on him immortality on the condition if he would make 5 steps to heaven, Swarg Ki Seedhi in a day. Starting out from Haridwar, the ‘Har Ki Pauri’ there was the first one before beginning to work on the second one and completing it at ‘Pauri Wala’. The third Pauri is said to be ‘Chooreshwar Mahadev‘ and the 4th one is at ‘Kinner Kailash‘. Ravana got tired and he slept and could not complete the fifth Pauri on the same day. Unable to fulfil the condition the lord of Lanka was deprived of immortality. It's believed that Shiva himself is present in the Shivling of Pauri Wala and who so ever wishes with a true heart for something in front of this Shivling, the wish gets fulfilled. Amazingly the residents are observing this Shivalingam to grow by the size of just a rice grain by every Shivaratri. However the saakshaat darshan of this great Shivalingam is a mesmerising experience for the believers above all.!! All Glories to Lord Shiva ~ Har Har Mahadev!!!
