The Kashmir Shaiv Darsana : Kashmir Shaivism teaches us that Lord Shiva has five principal acts
Sristi : creation
Sthiti :preservation
Samhara: dissolution
Vilaya: Veiling
Anugraha :Revealing
In the beginning, Shiva emanates the world by his own shakti ( sristi) . He then enters it as a player, but one who has forgotten his own Divine nature, from shiva he is now a jiva. ( vilaya)
As Jiva, he is a Bhokta- experient and goes through all the travails, finally he becomes curious to find out if there is any higher meaning to all this, if there is any power behind the curtain,,,This begins the spiritual journey of the jiva, he is now Bhakta! Through intense querry, prayer and meditation He finally realises the supreme truth that he , in fact is the shiva he is looking for, such is the advait philosophy of the Shaiv darsana. Thus too, the whole play of Shiva is described as:
"Shiva loves to lose Himself, seek himself and finally find Himself out."
Aum Namah Shivaye.
