Yogeshwara Shiva is Mahadev, in simple terms supreme Lord. The one who doesn't have any start and end. Everything emerges from him and in the end, gets dissolve in him. Therefore, Shiva is unique; there is no one like Shiva, the immortal one, Unconquerable, the greatest Aghor, infinite, omniscient, greatest transformer, Adi Purusha.
Maheshwara is Nirakar and Nirguna Param Brahma, in the highest level worshipped in the form of Lingam all around the world. In his physical existence, Shiva is in a household with Goddess Parvati. Every quality of Shiva makes him distinct from others.
Shiva is called by several thousands of names. Some of them are associated with deep meaning and a deep spiritual symbolism. The term Parameshwara means the supreme lord. Sarveshwara is the title that describes Shiva as the God of everything.
The term Jagadeeshwara identifies Shiva as the Lord of the universe. Maheshwara is the word that describes Shiva as the greatest god. The title Yogeshwara sees Shiva as the Lord of Yoga.
Shiva is shown seated in the lotus posture (padmasan) in a meditative pose absorbed in contemplation or supreme bliss. His body is smeared with holy ash denoting the transitory nature of the created universe. He wears a crescent moon that represents wisdom and mystic knowledge.
The three eyes tell he is the Lord of the past, present and future and the leader of sun, moon and fire. The snake colied around his neck indicates the divine energy or the Shiva principle embedded in every human being.
