SHIVA MEDITATED TO END SUFFERINGS

SHIVA MEDITATED TO END SUFFERINGS
That ‘Shiva was an aloof mendicant’, who just sat in the Himalayas doing his tapasya and was indifferent to the world and it's sufferings, was a wrong notion.
He defied the very concept that the more mystic one is, the more detached he becomes.
He loved relationships, and cared for his friends and bhaktas, sometimes knowing, at other times eager to know, how his favourite people had surfaced to their present form in this life. He always wanted a recap from the other’s story.
In each lifetime, in each story, He enjoyed sitting with His friends, sharing quality time in long conversations. They would exchange anecdotes and talk of the experiences gathered in each other’s absence. It was like filling in the blanks, putting in the pieces that fitted into a mystic Jigsaw puzzle like children. Unfailingly, each time, there would ultimately be that one glorious moment when, while sitting and exchanging their own private worlds and sojourns, the final piece would fit, completing the big picture.
it was simple: Shiva loved everyone.
And he knew that love had its periods of pain, and accepted this as a free will of the play, but it was a half-baked acceptance. He never allowed the idea of permanent pain or permanent separation to crystallize itself into completion. He always believed in a permanent togetherness, a permanent happiness. He believed in ‘Forever’.
“But How can there be a permanent happiness?” While some academic godmen expressed a doubt and even thought Shiva had spiritual immaturity, a few others saw it as the greatest hope of the world. If even Shiva aspired for a happiness that would last forever, then there was a hope that it could happen.
And that is what Shiva did in his intense tapasya, chintan and Dhyana: He made elaborate teachings in his wisdom so that ultimately a lot of people could learn them and end their suffering as also the suffering of others." said rishi Suta.

Beautiful picture of God Shiva and His wonderful Shakti, Goddess Parvati.

Beautiful picture of God Shiva and His wonderful Shakti, Goddess Parvati. Shiva does not wear a crown, but adorns Parvati with one, in token of Her royal stature. On the other hand, she is holding His Kamandalu as a mark of respect for his Yogi ways. And thus they complement each other, in both the transcendent and mundane aspects of life. I like also that He is painted in the North Indian style of Dhyanastha yogi and She has been done up in a typical Bengali Durga manner !
Incidentally did you know that when Hindu iconography shows God seated with one foot on the ground and the other above it, it's meant to convey that He is the master of both the earth and, the heavens.

God is the ultimate solution, and the sooner we start out inner journey towards Him, the better off we shall be.

They are not about giving you automatic solutions about money
or relationship problems.
They are not about interpreting dreams.
They are not about distance healing.
They are not about talking to your ancestors.
They are not about giving you new mantras.
They are not about ‘ Opening your crown chakra’ by magic.
It is normal for all of us to look for magic and miracles, but the truth is that the magic is within you, and your very life the miracle. We need to always remember that whatever is the problem, God is the ultimate solution, and the sooner we start out inner journey towards Him, the better off we shall be.
They are about about ‘Creating’ a better future for yourself in your material needs and relationships by your own intelligence, devotion and faith.
They are about handling the reality that confronts you, when you wake up.
They are about healing the‘ Thought’ in order to heal the body.
They are about focusing into the station of your heart where your departed ones are still present.
They are about understanding the life force which upholds all mantras .
They are about helping you on your soul journey, so that you reach the crown of all chakras by yourself.
Aum Namah Shivaye.

FACE TO FACE

FACE TO FACE
In His Chintan, Shiva weaves more and more of us into Himself.
This being the case, why should we not also advance a step towards our goal?
And who knows, one day, we may come face to face with the One who made us.
Aum Namah Shivaye.

HE IS THE POET

HE IS THE POET
He is the poet
and writer of the whole
His single poem is the making of the world
He is the keeper of our breath
in this whirlwind space we call life
He, the keeper of our little bowl
He is Shiva the lord,
Mahadev.
The ONE we love
"What is below? He says, "What indeed Above?"
"You are all my own" , whispers softly
the down to earth ruler of the sky
Aum Namah Shivaye!

AUM

AUM
Shiva has a master craft of primal involution : It is called Baindavi Kala. The art of the smallest point. With that He can reduce the whole Infinity to a dot. And this is creation.
When the timeless yogis meditated in Shiva's own Himalayas to transcend all creation in a conversely mega evolution, they understood a divine sound, a divine vibration and whispered it almost inaudibly…“AUM”.
A whole infinity reduced to a dot, indeed.
And the same dot crowned Aum, represented by crowning the syllable ॐ
Aum Namah Shivaye.

SHIVA’S STRING

SHIVA’S STRING
Scientists talk of string theory, as the one that unites quantum physics ( science of small) and general relativity ( science of large) This has been nearly impossible to formulate, and science is still working on it .
For the Shaivite, these are the Siddhis of anima and mahima;
All the planets in the Universe, become heavenly bodies, adorning Shiva as gems around His heart, no matter how distant or near, large or small. All are connected like beads on a celestial necklace.
Aum Namah Shivaye!

WHAT IS MEDITATION?

WHAT IS MEDITATION?
One question which is often asked by seekers to a spiritual Guide, is, "What happens during meditation"
Well, the curious mind, which has, so far, identified itself with its conditioning, thoughts, and own conceptions, yearns to transcend itself, to know the truth about the truth, to reach the unreachable. Meditation, is a step to introduce this mind to the truth.
During meditation, the meditator strives for maximum awareness. And this striving is paradoxical - it comes only after complete relaxation and ‘at easeness’. One should not be, therefore, rigid or conditioned even about approaches to meditation.
In due course, the mind perceives many new sensory lights, sounds and smells, which for it, did not exist earlier. These serve as indicators of progress. The mind now knows that there is nothing known as soundless. That in fact, the absence of noise which we call silence, alone leads to anahata, the eternal reasonance, vibrating the universal sound of Aum.
Similarly, that, which we have known as darkness, is actually permeated by lights. And the air around you seems to carry the scents of the Divine, which are now tangible, real.
So, meditation, in fact begins to sharpen our senses, and they discover newer dimensions, get hooked on to frequencies which were unknown to us earlier.
Then, in a more advanced stage, the meditator becomes conscious of an energy formation that rises slowly, up the spine. The steadily rising energy reaches the brain and explodes into a grand awareness. There is nothing more to be seen, heard or smelled; only a knowingness. This knowingness is known by itself.
The mind that has been so stilled by the meditator into perfect awareness, knows that it has transcended itself, that it stands in the truth. That, it is experiencing eternity, void, nothingness, everythingness, all at once.
You are at once the knower and the known, the experiencer and the experienced, and you are also the experience itself ! You ARE the knowing. This is called Self realisation, enlightenment, Atma vyapti.
The concept of time too, stands radically altered, because you know you have taken a cosmic journey in a split second; indeed, you have experienced time immemorial in a fraction of the present. Later, when the mind returns to the level of intellect, and then reflects upon the experience, it may be called ‘near death’ since there was no body or mind consciousness at the time; and you are trying to understand it through memory. You are filled with the wonderment again, who was it that experienced all that?
Only pure Consciousness reflecting upon pure Consciousness- A declaration of the primordial state of being, what you were before you were born!
Aum Namah Shivaye.

TRAYAMBAKAM

TRAYAMBAKAM
We live our life in dimension three.
Length, breadth and height is what we see.
Food clothing shelter
for the most time have us.
And we are always found lost,
running helter skelter.
A wise man once said " You are not to blame"
for you do not see
and how can you want that
which you cannot see.
Nor do we hear or smell
much less touch.
And it is fine:
We have learnt the market rules,
life is in routine, just like a well oiled machine.
But then somehow, a presence is felt,
and the height breadth and length
all change
topsy turvy go our securities
and suddenly we realise its running dry
this strangely stuttering life
that was once our well oiled being.
Lengths breadths widths
inches feet and miles
we live our world by measures
always wanting more.
Aum Trayambakam!
O three eyed One
finally you made us feel your immeasurable Self
help us Mahadev,
to see dimension four.

VITARKA ATMA JNANAM

VITARKA ATMA JNANAM
वितर्क आत्मज्ञानम्
In this beautiful pic we see Devi Parvati in unwavering consciousness of Shiva.
The Supreme Lord (Paramesvara) is all knowing, all doing and all pervading. So, the yogi who is meditating on Shiva also should think "My self is one with the Lord " By attentive meditation on this, one becomes one with Shiva, thus said the great Swami Lakshman Joo.
Tarka in the system of Kashmir Shaivism, is to discuss or analyze, to reason or rationalize.
Sat tarka is to dwell on pristine consciousness, to remain absorbed on Sat, reality, which is non dual.
Vitarka, is intensive awareness returning you to the realization, that because all really is formed of the one consciousness,
And which is the same as my self, therefore the continual affirmation that all is Siva, all is my own self.
Therefore, this sutra is an advanced stage, and is about the yogi who has realised that the universe is only a form of Siva.

NANDI - THE BHAKT SUPREME

NANDI - THE BHAKT SUPREME
Nandi as a constant companion of Mahadev, is a singular and outstanding example of what a bhakt can do, and importantly, in turn what that bhakti can do for you.
Imagine being with God moment to moment through His every mood, His every dance, His every event.
Nandi has been with Shiva even when Ma Durga went backstage from the screenplay of life to transform Herself from Sati to Parvati, in a celestial role play.
And it is this bhakti that earns Nandi the place in the Shiva Parivar itself:
Loved by Shiva and Ma like their own child, like Kartikeye and Ganesh- A little flower in the hands of the cosmic parents.
Aum Namah Shivaye! Jai Jagadambe Ma! Dhan ho Nandi bhakti!

ETERNAL FLAME

ETERNAL FLAME
The moon may wax or wane
life may bring pleasure or pain
but she will always have Him in her heart, her soul
will do anything, sacred or profane
to keep Him in this heart
like that moon tucked in his endless mane
like a wind tossed love she will play out the timeless game.
blissed and blessed in the knowing
that she is His eternal flame.

What one must adhere to before entering a Hindu Temple (Video)

Most Hindu temples are usually open to the public, it is important to enter each one with the understanding that it is a sacred space. Being conscious of certain etiquettes can help one navigate the hallowed grounds of a temple respectfully.

Before entering a temple, it is generally recommended to be clean and modestly dressed. For both men and women, this generally means not wearing shorts and keeping the shoulders covered. Traditions can vary, however, from temple to temple. Some place a greater emphasis on dressing simply, requiring men to be shirtless and to wear only unsewn cloth.

Temples are like homes of the Gods. When you enter, you are a guest in that home. Before entering a temple everyone is required to remove shoes. Sometimes this is entirely outside the temple complex and other times at a designated space inside the complex, but before entering the temple proper. If it’s not obvious where to do so (racks for shoes, informational signs) just ask where to leave your shoes. Removing dirty shoes makes you cleaner, and is a sign of respect for the proprietor whose house you are about to spend time in. Its best to wash your feet with tap water before entering the Temple.

Many temples have a brass bell hanging near the entrance, which devotees ring before entering. Like knocking on the door of a person’s home to notify them of your arrival, ringing the bell informs the deities you’ve come to seek their association.

Paying obeisances comes next. The act of bowing down and touching the head to the ground demonstrates and instills humility and helps to cultivate the consciousness of respect a person should have while in a temple room.

As when visiting a friend’s home you might bring a token gift, it is common practice for Hindus to bring a flower, fruit, or some other item as an offering to the God of the temple they’re visiting. Though it is not required, presenting an offering is an act of service that can deepen one’s sincere devotion.

Open the door of your heart and look deeply, is He seated within?

There are many Universes, many stories, many doors.
And yet you yourself are a Universe too.
Open the door of your heart and look deeply, is He seated within?
Because that is where the real story begins.

MY ROAD

MY ROAD
My road ends at you, to whom there is no end.
