Beautiful picture of God Shiva and His wonderful Shakti, Goddess Parvati. Shiva does not wear a crown, but adorns Parvati with one, in token of Her royal stature. On the other hand, she is holding His Kamandalu as a mark of respect for his Yogi ways. And thus they complement each other, in both the transcendent and mundane aspects of life. I like also that He is painted in the North Indian style of Dhyanastha yogi and She has been done up in a typical Bengali Durga manner !
Incidentally did you know that when Hindu iconography shows God seated with one foot on the ground and the other above it, it's meant to convey that He is the master of both the earth and, the heavens.
Aum Namah Shivaye
