What if creation did not arise from need at all? What if existence is not the answer to a problem, but the expression of a freedom so complete that it overflows?”

The seeker stared. “What do you mean?”

Shiva gestured toward the sky. “Think of a great artist. A painting is not created because the artist lacks paint.”

Parvati smiled. “A song is not written because the musician lacks music.”

“Creation,” Shiva said softly, “can be expression rather than solution.”
