Shivling is worshipped in two common forms – Chala (Moveable) Lingam and Achala (Non Moveable or fixed lingam). The Chala lingam may be kept at one’s own home for worship. Chala Lingams are often made of gemstones, quartz, brass, parad or other metals.

Achala Lingams and installed at temples and are un-movable once they are installed. These are usually made of stones. There are rigid rules for achala lingams which must be followed. Achala Lingam must be offered prayers at fixed times and without failure.

Shiva lingam made of different materials ;

Ashtaloha Lingam: It is made of eight metals and cures leprosy

Vaidurya Lingam: It is made of a precious stone called vaiduryam (Lapis Lazuli) and protects one from enemy's attack.

Spatika Lingam: It is made of crystal and bestows fulfillment of all desires.

Parad Lingam: It is made of mercury and bestows abundance.

Trapu Lingam: It is made of tagara metal and makes one’s life free from enemies, if adored.

Ahasa Lingam: It is made of vitriol of sulphate and relieves one from the menace of the enemies.

Seesa Lingam: It is made of lead and makes the adorer invulnerable to foes.

The trident, or the spear with three prongs, is one of the accessories of Lord Shiva and symbolizes His three fundamental powers iccha(will), kriya(action) and jnana (knowledge). It also signifies His power to destroy evil and ignorance. As His weapon and instrument of punishment the trident represents Lord Shiva's manner of punishing the evil doers on all the three planes - spiritual, subtle and physical.

Trishul represents the three aspects of consciousness – waking, dreaming and sleeping, and it represents the three gunas – satva, rajas and tamas. Holding a trishul(Trident) signifies that Shiva (the divinity) is above all the three states – waking, dreaming and sleeping, yet is the upholder of these three states.

The divinity is beyond the three gunas, but it holds the three gunas together.

Shul means problems or suffering. Trishul means that which destroys all kind of suffering.

Three types of pain that arise in life:
1. Aadibhautik (physical)
2. Aadhyaatmik (spiritual) and
3. Aadidaivik (ethereal)

What relieves you from all the problems and suffering is the trishul. And it is in the hand of Shiva. Hence Lord Shiva is the destroyer of Suffering and pain. ✨👁🔱🌌🐍⌛️🌙🌃💀📿🌀🕉🙏🏻

Durga is a three eyed Ambika, Narayani or Parvati who takes the form of Ma Kali.

Durga is a three eyed Ambika, Narayani or Parvati who takes the form of Ma Kali. Mother Durga is a Shakti manifestation representing the infinite power of the universe and symbol of feminine dynamism and potency of Shiva.

Holy Trinity emitted a divine light that combined to form a huge mountain of great energy. That mass of energy was unmatchable in the three worlds and in no time it got converted into a woman. She is worshiped for her gracious as well as terrifying aspects. Durga’s story appears primarily in the Skanda Purana which is part of the Markandeya Purana. Durga is said to have projected Kali out of her third eye. When Goddess Durga is depicted having three eyes, she is referred to as Triyambake. These are similar to that of Lord Shiva and symbolise knowledge that consumes ignorance. Symbolically Her left eye represent desire – the moon; the right action – the sun and the third eye represents knowledge or Fire.

Shaktis third eye refers to one’s inner vision. It is the gate of the inner realms of higher consciousness. Thus it metaphorically symbolises non-dualistic thinking. In Shiva Tattva it is the eye of higher perception. It is not physically present but everyone ‘has’ a third eye. Jnani’s and enlightened persons realise its presence.

According to the Puranas, the third eye symbolises wisdom and knowledge. Shivas burning of Kama Deva by his third eye is symbolic of destroying desire and lust. As ‘Tryambaka’ Lord Shiva is the ‘the three eyed’ God. While this has vedic origins and mentioned in the Upanishads, the Mahabaratha states ‘ambaka’ denotes ‘the eye’ of Ambika meaning mother’s eye.

In Puranic literature, Goddess Parvati is worshipped as Shakti. She is described as having many forms, including Durga, Chandi, Kali and Uma. While Shiva symbolizes the efficient cause of the creation, Shakti symbolizes the material cause. Shakti or Durga is inseparable from Shiva.

Dashavatara refers to the ten primary avatars of Lord Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation

Dashavatara refers to the ten primary avatars of Lord Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. Shri Vishnu is said to descend in form of an avatar to restore cosmic order. The word Dashavatara derives from dasa, meaning 'ten', and avatar (avatara), equivalent to 'incarnation'.

The list of avatars in the Dashavatara varies by region. Lord Vishnu incarnates on Earth from time to time to eradicate evil forces, to restore the dharma and to liberate the worthy ones or devotees from the cycle of births and deaths. Shri Vishnu in his avatar as Krishna speaks in the Bhagavad Gita, "To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of righteousness, I manifest myself, millennium after millennium".
The ten Avatars of Shri Vishnu are ; He has appeared in various incarnations nine times on this earth, with the tenth predicted.

The Bhagavata Purana claims that Shri Vishnu has infinite avatars which he takes whenever there is a need to restore cosmic order, however, it still goes on to numerically list out 22 Vishnu avatars in chapter 1.3.
