SHIVA, THE MASTER TRAINER

Shiva is the Lord of Tantra, a unique system of weaving together God’s science of manifestation. He often taught His ganas the tantra.

He had a generous habit of gifting His attendants, the powers to be almost Shiva themselves. Gorakh Nath, Balak Nath and Shamshan Nath were just a few of the people, who, if they wanted, could conjure all three worlds from their magic bags.

But not once, in known history, had the ganas ever usurped power.

This was most unlike the Asuras, another primal race, who were actually the earlier cousins of the Devas. The Asuras had a peculiar trait of misusing power. Everyone knew the pattern.

They first performed penances for hundreds of years to Shiva, and when He would be happy and ready to grant a wish, they would ask for power.

Once booned, they would start to plunder everyone else. This had happened several times.

But Shiva never changed His giving Nature. Instead, He understood that to digest power was far more difficult than the act that helped acquire it. It was only being in touch with one’s divinity that could enable this spiritual maturity. Shiva was always in touch with His own divinity; He was the most powerful. And so He felt the need to train some beings to digest power.

These chosen ones were the ganas. And that was the difference, which never allowed them to become like Asuras: The training from Shiva about one’s own divinity.

A breathtakingly meditative scene

of becoming, and being

Yin and Yang

Wu and Wei

Transcendence in manifestation

His potency and Her kinetics!

His stillness and Her dynamics!

Her Shiva !

and His, Shakti.

Aum!

Such is the dance

of many forms

such is the pristine being:

such indeed the play of Shakti Shiv

the seer

who has become

the seeing...

SHIVA- THE GOD OF GODS

Hinduism believes that the processes of God are principally threefold:

Creation,Preservation,and Destruction. It further believes,that God optimizes his attributes in a particular manifestation to enable the execution of a specific process with the greatest efficiency and efficacy, Thus Brahma is the creator of the world, Vishnu incarnates time and again, for he is it’s preserver. Which , in some thinking leaves Shiva as the destroyer of the Universe at the end of a world cycle.

However, this is one view. Those who know Shiva better (the Shaivites), see His role in a different way :

In a world full of changes, something must mark the parameter of permanence, and that permanent principle is Shiva. Shaivites prefer to understand Him as the

"Re-absorber". Their view is :

Shiva is actually Bhairava, one who creates (Va) maintains ( Bha) and finally withdraws the Universe into Himself ( Ra) .

In the beginning,before the world or even time was created, only Shiva Was existent. He was endowed with immense power,Shakti,which is none other than Devi,the eternal consort; The two are inseparable, like Sun and light.

Shiva and Shakti created the world through Brahma and maintained it through Vishnu.

When Shiva enters the world He Himself created , most of us know Him from here,in his popular depiction as Shiva, the Yogi.

He is Dhyanastha-meditative,mindful, beneficent, always immersed in transmitting spiritual guidance,sharing many methods of attainment.

Ultimately, at the end of life, all things are absorbed back to him. But, those few bhaktas are lucky, who get absorbed in Godhead in their current birth, even while retaining their body,that is, before actually dying. This is real attainment. This is real Moksha and jivan mukti for a lover of Shiva.

FATHER HAS COME OUT OF HIS TRANCE

FATHER HAS COME OUT OF HIS TRANCE

Who can know your joy rides in your heart,

those awesome gales ,the phantasmic thoughts

that make hair raising tales?

Sometimes, may you smile, Divine One,

and, coming out of the Dhyan, teach us not just your study

but Ananda, the blissful wild dance.

"Bhom Bhom Bhom" Sounds Nandi the drum,

thumping joyfully his own chest, the loyal, loving one,

bellows thunderously, the barrel chested Gan,

Come dance, come dance, Father has come out of His trance!!

Come one come all, come ye must, to the king’s own stall.

Yes nandi ,

"This time", " I'm going to make sure everyone exists,

no pralaya any more, when i open the third;

I shall awaken together with the children,

the trees and the birds, to dance" Mahadeva resounds:

Not me alone again, in my trance.

DHYANI SHIVA

Back in the forest, the animals never once disturbed Him as He meditated. Sometimes, He opened His eyes after hours of inward concentration, to see a deer looking at Him curiously! A snake or two cuddled peacefully right next to Him, was not uncommon either. It was unbelievable, that sometimes, bumble bees hovered around His Kamandalu, desperately looking for the source of a sweet and enigmatic aroma that would emanate almost every time He went into meditation. It was as if the animals knew meditation was the only thing worthy of watching in the humans; the only thing that they didn’t themselves have, or, for that matter which wasn’t outrightly copied from them.

ONLY GOD

 

ONLY GOD

A long time ago, before the creation of the whole world, there was nothing and only God was present.

He was lonely and wanted to create something , so that He could share life.

But since there was nothing : no flowers, no animals, no humans, no Devatas, no building material, what would He create from?

So He created from Himself.

He created you, from Himself.

Therefore the greatest truth is that

You are essentially Shiva, within Shiva.

And now you wonder about His existence!

Your own existence, is the proof that He exists.

Dive deep, and see that even now, only God is present.

Swami Vivekananda had a great nature of Lord Shiva.

In one of Vivekananda's early visits, Sri Ramakrishna said to him :'Behold, in you is Shiva! And in me is Shakti! And these two are One!'

According to the testimony of the Mother-guided Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda is 'Siva', born 'to bring spiritual consciousness to people'

Swami Vivekananda had great fascination for Lord Shiva during his childhood. As he grew older his love for Shiva, the Lord of monks and yogis deepened. And now in the Himalayas, the abode of the Great God,the thought of Him was uppermost in the Swami's mind.

`Yes!' he said of Shiva one day, `He is the Great God, calm, beautifuland silent; and I am His great worshipper'

during his stay in Kashmir, Swami Vivekananda was in a

different world altogether. Visions of Shri Amarnath, Mother Kali andKshir Bhavani remained always with him. Later at Belur Math he said :"Since visiting Amarnath, I feel as though Shiva were sitting on my head for twenty-four hours a day and will not come down."
