LATEST PROGRESS ON OUR TEMPLE RESTORATION WORKS & PRATHISHTA DINAM (36 photos)

Our Temple's Prathishta Dinam function was a grand success in the presence of everyone. Ganapathi homam, navagam and other poojas were done in the presence of Thanthri, melshanthi and three other namboothiri helpers. Prasada sadya was given in the afternoon. Niramala and poojas were done in the evening.

On our Temple restoration works, Chuttambalam works are going very rapidly. Laying of stones are progressing very smoothly. The front kattila and the kattila in the north side are fixed. The arch in the inner wall of thidappalli is under construction. There are six workers for sizing the stones.

Other than this, the pathukam of namaskaramandapam, 4 pillars of namaskaramandapam and 16 pillars of chuttambalam are remaining.  We plan to construct that using karinkallu instead of chenkallu.  The God favours karinkallu (Krishnashila) and need to be brought from Palakkad. By using karinkallu, it will be good to show the importance of namaskaramandapam.

The carpenter has finished all his works on the outside and will only proceed with the roof area after completion of the mason's work. He also has to work on two big doors. Then, cement pasting work will be remaining.

The wood that has to be laid on chuttambalam and namaskaramandapam should be of lotus shape. Since it demands a lot of effort of the carpenter, it was given to a computer wood design shop.

We were trying to complete the works before March 4, 2014 which is the kaliyattam date. But it seems it won't be possible by that date. If the works go with the same pace, we hope to complete the work by the end of March. The problem is with the availability of workers to size the stones. If the workers are not that good, the work will lack finishing.

Once the chuttambalam work is finished, the measurement of some of the old constructions will have to be changed. The yard inside chuttambalam has to be lowered and karinkallu has to be laid there. The yard outside chuttambalam has to be lowered by 20 cm and the big lamp in that yard has to be re located. The way for pradakshinam outside chuttambalam has to be constructed.

We have focus on arranging facilities that will help the poojas to be done fine which would surely increase the power of our God.

The photos above are on the Prathishta Dinam and the  current status of our Temple restoration works.

Thank you.

Warmest regards,

C. Praveen,
Temple Committee Chairman
