This body is the source of infinite miseries. It is full of impurities. It brings disrespect, censure, pain, etc. It passes away without a moment's notice.

This body is the source of infinite miseries. It is full of impurities. It brings disrespect, censure, pain, etc. It passes away without a moment's notice. It is subject to disease, decay and old age. Therefore think of Atma which is eternal, pure and all pervading. This body which is full of impurities is perishable. It is despised by your enemies. It remains like a useless log of wood on the ground when the Prana departs from the body. It is the cause of the pain and suffering. It is your real enemy. Why should you cling to it. Do not be foolish and silly in adorning it with fine silks and ornaments. Nothing on this earth belongs to you. This body even is not yours. This body is certainly not meant for the satisfaction of petty ends. It is for rigorous penance here and infinite happiness hereafter. It is an instrument for achieving the goal of human life. It serves the purpose of a boat to cross this ocean of Samsara to the other side. So let go off lust, greed and all other evils. Burn all the impurities of the mind, such as egoism, vanity and lust, through the fire of devotion and knowledge. Ignite cosmic love, mercy, generosity, selflessness, truthfulness and purity through the fire of Bhakti Yoga. That's why Shiva is always unclad with ashes over his body. The ashes on his body is cemetery ash, which points to the philosophy of the life and death and shows that death is the ultimate reality of the life. Most things in the universe reduce to ashes when burned and this aspect of nature is suggested by the ash-smeared appearance of Lord Shiva.  He is free from lust. The Lord's sitting on Tiger skin indicates that he has conquered lust. Once one is free from lust his heart experience power of love and he become fearless. It is symbol of fearlessness. Tiger represents energy. This shows Shivas victory not only over ferocious animals but his power in all the three worlds. It sends a message of the victory of the divine force over animal instincts. Lord Shiva is the source of the creative energy that remains in potential form during the dissolution state of the universe. He activates this energy using his own Divine Will to project the universe in endless cycles. Lord Shiva is often shown seated upon or wearing a tiger skin, which is the vehicle of Maa Shakti also, it emphasises the fact that he is the master of Shakti and is beyond and above any kind of force.! Har Har Mahadev ~ Om Namah Shivaya!
