Hindu temple lost and found in Matang, Sarawak dates back 130 years. Believed to be built by the Brookes coffee/tea plantation Indian workers in 1897 and then lost to the abandoned place for over 60 years. Found by hunters in 1960s the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Matang sits about 1,100 feet above sea level and accessible by a 3km road. The temple is entirely built by wood found indigenously in the forest.
