Why people pour milk to the snake ant hill! Why?

In Hindu culture, worshipping and offering to any God does not mean that whatever food or money or anything offered will be consumed by God, we all Hindus know that reality, when we offer something to God it is us we satisfy our self that we worship or remember our Gods by doing that ritual, and All gods wants our desire and intense (Bhavana) while worshipping, and these ways of worshipping makes our own spirit more satisfied than anything else, and we feel spiritual towards Gods.

In early times, Indian society was agrarian. In controlling the population of rodents, snakes played a vital role but they were poisonous and people fear of them.

Then why people pour milk to the snake ant hill! Why?

We are wasting the milk (you may think) ! Have anybody thought about that?

The truth and the scientific admission is that the chicken egg and cow milk offered are rarely consumed by snakes.

Then why are they pouring milk to snake ant hill ?

In the early days there were snakes as a big problem for man. Due to the thick forests, human movements are very low. Snakes are much more than man.

The right to kill an organism is not there for the followers of Hinduism in those days. They respected everything. So they tried to control their reproductive rights.

Reproduction of snakes is very different. The female serpent sends some sort of aroma (bromone) from the body. The male serpent will be looking for a snake.

The smell from the egg is preventing the smell from the female snake. So they can not reproduce.

The absolute reason is that no one has understood .

That is why the broken chicken eggs contents or cow milk are poured.

How intelligent our ancestors were? ......
