Shiva!

drummer of my soul,

this is no dream,

ask my heart, where you lurk,

the woods are green.

And I have danced!

What of youth,

and life

and being

I am your very breath,

O King, of Kings,

Lead me gently now,

This world your dancing ring.

SHARING THE DIVINE KNOWLEDGE

A beautiful painting with a deep meaning.

Parvati collects the Ganga flowing from Shiva’s Jattas in a container, as Kartikeye , Ganesh, Nandi and Kesri ( Durga’s Lion ) look on.

The Ganga, which has so far resided in the Heavens at the feet of God Vishnu, is actually a Gyan Ganga- full of Divine knowledge so high that none other than Shiva can withstand her impact.

But once Shiva contains her in His hair, He is then ‘Giving’ that Heavenly Gyan in sustainable quantity to Parvati, so that she may share this blessing with the other ladies in the satsang-Holy congregation.

A LOVE STORY OVER AND OVER AGAIN

At first, I was overwhelmed by His infinite aspects: What could one write about Him, who is Timeless, Limitless and Boundless? And then, the question itself revealed the answer. One sure mark of Shiva, is that He is bound to Parvati. It is said of Shiva that He does not incarnate. Of Parvati's bhakti (devotion), it is said She is one who can make even Shiva incarnate.

He is Timeless, and yet when Parvati manifests, it is time for Shiva to arrive. He is formless, but when She arrives, He manifests form. She is His eternal soulmate, and they always find each other, through the mists of cosmic time, even through lifetimes; such is the magic of their love! For it is said, Parvati is His wife even from Her previous birth, when She was called Sati.

And I realised that behind the innumerable tales about Him,

at the core of the myriad roles that He plays out, Shiva's story,

is essentially a love story, over and over again.

PUSHTIVARDHANAM

Since He is Sugandhim, when Mahadev enters your heart, the soul lets out a fragrance of divinity. But He is Pushtivardhanam too, and therefore you must shape your body astutely, to match robust ideals that are associated with His justice and cosmic order. A bhakt never has to be a weak persona. Swami Vivekananda knew this well and exhorted his disciples to be always abhay, fearless, even if you must stand alone for what you know to be right .

“It’s pretty amazing that all animals express their feelings directly in their action, there’s no camouflage or sugar coating. Animals are very honest, as a basic trait. But man, on the other hand, is something else! Man is the only one who is known to express even diametrically the opposite of what he really wants , just to disguise his fiercely individual agendas. And he can do this with a cunningness that has been perfected to a skill! And this despite the fact that it’s supposed to be the human brain that comes gifted with a facility to reach a Universal transcendence, better known as enlightenment." said Shiva

“ And so that’s why you love innocence more than knowledge, Bholenath?” smiled Parvati.

THE ALL SEEING EYE

 

THE ALL SEEING EYE

They say there is an 'All seeing eye'

They say the eye is in the holy sky.

But some who climbed the mountains

declare ,He is not one who rules from afar,

not a distanced God, too Godly to perceive

He is here, with us, a new world to conceive.

Shiva.

The one who wears not a crown

nor assembly halls does keep

nor a kingdom in outer space, but is down to earth

a mountain God, a simple heart.

The 'all seeing eye' is not to judge:

God doesn't have to show up just to show His might,

It was always more about love, and light.

Shiva- The one who is good, and means love
