YUJA

Photo: YUJA

Yoga is to deploy the body and mind to discover that you are not just a body and mind. Yuja, the sanskrit word means literally, "to yoke".It suggests a state where one is conjoined to the primal consciousness. But this too, is at best a pointer. How can one be conjoined to that which is everything?!!
One can only be "that".
In reality , one has always been that, so there is no re-joining.
So what is enlightenment, what is awakening?
It is not becoming something new, but just becoming Aware of what you have always been.
The Kashmir Shaivites use a term for this, that suggests a " Re-cognition" ; a remembrance of one's Divinity that has always been intact. Yoga is to become aware that you are essentially Siva Tattva, which constitutes all things of the world....
As i always say "Yoga, is to try to yoke to supreme consciousness and find that you were never seperated!"

Aum Namah Shivaya!

Shiva, Is Yogeshwar, the yogi par excellence.

Photo: Shiva, Is Yogeshwar, the yogi par excellence. Here the sahasara chakra is being shown. Sahasrara means the thousand petalled (lotus) therefore denoting infinity. Shivji's true nature is the timeless infinite, and through dhyana, meditation yogis can enter into the gateway and have a glimpse of their beloved God's Nature.
Shivji , who is rarely shown seated on a lotus, seems to project the chakra system in this picture.
At the crown of the head, sahasrara, the thousand petaled lotus is shown. It signifies that consciousness is anant ananda. It is its own endless bliss.Shivji started many systems of Yoga and Tantra. Devotees like Gorakh Nath transmitted them for the benefit of their followers. Therefore the original Hatha Yoga also comes from Shivji. Aum Namah Shivaya!

Rudra absolutely loved the crisp air of Kailash.

Thanks Sapna Poudel Mhr for this beautiful art of Shiv ji.
i am conjoining with an excerpt from My forthcoming book, SHIVA, Flight of the Ultimate time traveler:

Rudra absolutely loved the crisp air of Kailash.
There was a very pleasing aroma in the air always, which, Rudra thought , was “the smell of freshness itself.”
There was no sense of time, only the golden sunrise and sunset would indicate dawn and dusk.
Rudra loved all the birds and beasts that came to visit the mountains from the forests at their baseline. They were in absolute contrast to the people he had known in the city. Always natural, always spontaneous , always unabashed in their play, unlike the contrived displays in speech and gestures in the mannerisms of society. These were exactly the kind of beings that would be termed Uncouth, He thought to Himself, but smiled, because His own spirit resonated with them. ‘This was the way to be, in the lap of Nature itself, one is Natural’, He thought.

O Shiva, your glory can’t be described either by speech or mind. Even vedas are equally surprised and confused when it comes express your greatness by only saying Neti, Neti (Not this and not this). Who can then praise such a greatness as yours? I praise to thee knowing its difficult to sing for you who is with and without form.

Jai Durga Maa!

“You may roar from the mountain tops, you may whisper into your cat’s ear. You may express it through the swagger in your hips, through a hearty pumpkin soup for one of those rainy days or in a gentle touch on a tired neck. You may sing it, teach it, paint it, dance it, write it.

No matter if you yearn for it or resist it. Fall in love with it, ignore it, go for it or doubt it, Durga ~ The Goddess who is married to Truth, demands that the vibration of you, your gift, your voice, your truth, is fully given.

Your truth AND the trust and strength to live it, is not found in the cunning navigation through the all too familiar playing fields of the power games (higher/lower, win/loose, superior/unworthy, perpetrator/victim). Nor is it found in the never ending dance of self improvement, pumped up empowerment or building your self esteem.

Your truth is not something you need to reach, find or create. It is already vibrating fiercely in the depths of that which truly matters to your soul.

Sadhana is spiritual practice, spiritual practice is love.

In the Hindu Puranas where the story of Durga has its origin, the demons that she is fighting represent the forces and compulsive patterns, which freeze us, which generate conflict, separation and delusion.

The gods and goddesses mirror to us clarity, love, compassion and awakened consciousness.

“Evil” and the ‘Good” manifest in endless battles of duality, yet when we un-plug from the drama and dive a bit deeper, we stumble upon the astonishing face of unity.”

If one wants to abide in the thought-free state, a struggle is inevitable.

Photo: If one wants to abide in the thought-free state, a struggle is inevitable. One must fight one's way through before regaining one's original primal state. If one succeeds in the fight and reaches the goal, the enemy, namely the thoughts, will all subside in the Self and disappear entirely.

Aum Namah: Shivaya
