"You are separate not only from each other, but from your own truth.”

Photo: SHIVJI SAID : God: “The level of a society’s advancement is reflected, inevitably, in the degree of its duality thinking. Social evolution is demonstrated by movement towards unity, not separatism.”
Neale Donald Walsch: “Why? Why is unity such a yardstick?”
God: “Because unity is the truth. Separatism is the illusion. As long as a society sees itself as separate—a series or collection of separate units—it lives in the illusion.
All of life on your planet is built on separatism; based in duality.
You imagine yourselves to be separate families or clans, gathered in separate neighborhoods or states, collected in separate nations or countries, comprising a separate world, or planet.
You imagine your world to be the only inhabited world in the universe. You imagine your nation to be the finest nation on earth. You imagine your state to be the best state in the nation, and your family the most wonderful in the state.
Finally, you think that you are better than anyone else in your family. Oh, you claim you don’t think any of this, but you act as if you do.
Your true thoughts are reflected every day in your social decisions, your political conclusions, your religious determinations, your economic choices, and your individual selections of everything from friends to belief systems to your very relationship with God. That is, Me.
You feel so separate from Me that you imagine I won’t even talk to you. And so you are required to deny the veracity of your own experience. You experience that you and I are One, but you refuse to believe it. Thus you are separate not only from each other, but from your own truth.”

"All the world’s a stage, and the people, the players." (Shakespeare)

Photo: “Your Shakespeare said it: All the world’s a stage, and the people, the players.
He also said, “To be or not to be, that is the question.”
And he a/so said: “To thine own Self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.”
When you are true to your Self, when you do not betray your Self, then when it “looks like” you are “giving,” you will know you are actually “receiving.” You are literally giving yourself back to your Self.
You cannot truly “give” to another, for the simple reason that there is no “other.” If We are all One, then there is only You.”

“Everything you do, you do for yourself."

Photo: “Everything you do, you do for yourself.
This is true because you and all others are One.
Indeed, you will start with yourself. You will put yourself first in these matters.
Everything in life depends on what you are seeking to be. If, for instance, you are seeking to be One with all others (that is, if you are seeking to experience a conceptualization you already know to be true), you will find yourself behaving in a very specific way—a way which allows you to experience and demonstrate your Oneness. And when you do certain things as a result of this, you will not experience that you are doing something for someone else, but rather, that you are doing it for your Self.
The same will be true no matter what you are seeking to be. If you are seeking to be love, you will do loving things with others. Not for others, but with others.
Notice the difference. Catch the nuance. You will be doing loving things with others, for your Self—so that you can actualize and experience your grandest idea about your Self and Who You Really Are.”

Those ideas, expressed through you, as you, create the template, set the stage, serve as a model for the next level of human experience.
You are the life and the way. The world will follow you. You are not at choice in this matter. It is the only matter in which you have no free choice. It is simply The Way It Is. Your world will follow your idea about yourself. Ever it has been, ever it will be.”

How to Know When God is Speaking to You

Photo: How to Know When God is Speaking to You
“Many words have been uttered by others, in My name. Many thoughts and many feelings have been sponsored by causes not of My direct creation. Many experiences result from these. The challenge is one of discernment. The difficulty is knowing the difference between messages from God and data from other sources. Discrimination is a simple matter with the application of a basic rule:
Mine is always your Highest Thought, your Clearest Word, your Grandest Feeling. Anything less is from another source.
Now the task of differentiation becomes easy, for it should not be difficult even for the beginning student to identify the Highest, the Clearest, and the Grandest. Yet will I give you these guidelines:
The Highest Thought is always that thought which contains joy. The Clearest Words are those words which contain truth. The Grandest Feeling is that feeling which you call love. Joy, truth, love.
These three are interchangeable, and one always leads to the other. It matters not in which order they are placed.”

“I do have trouble with my conscience” , said the snake, “but you speak of Consciousness, what is the difference ?”

“Have you heard of Krishna and his Geeta?” Asked the Yogi.
“Yes”, said the snake. “It was a sermon delivered by God, Krishna, unto man, Arjun ; A warrior, on a battlefield.
Arjun was reluctant to lift his arms against his own kin who stood opposite him on the same ground. Arjun worried about the Dharma, of what was right and what wrong, Krishna guided him about relationships, personal and transpersonal, of duty, of priority, of life, of death, and of consequent action.”

“Let me put it like this” , said the Yogi, “ Krishna is Consciousness. Arjun, is the voice of conscience, that needs to be directed to a higher, all pervasive truth. Each one of us contains a battlefield within. The war, is within, Arjun, is within, Krishna too is within. You must locate that Krishna, and then, he will redirect Arjun.
Actually, Krishna and Arjun are both consciousness, but Krishna is conscious about this and Arjun needs to be made conscious of it.”

The bearded image of Lord Shiva is rare, but not unknown.

Photo: A personal favourite. The bearded image of Lord Shiva is rare, but not unknown. This would be His ascetic and as it were, rustic self. He is normally not Projected like this, so that His bhaktas are not actually scared of the Robust look. But Shivji definitely had this appearance for a long time between Sati And Parvati.

And the moon is an excellent symbol for the play of consciousness , being full always , it appears to be phasing , just like the Atma is always connected to Paratman, but appears to be an ordinary Jiva. Note that the artist has also painted the full moon at the background, in addition to the moon on Shiva's forehead indicating this esoteric truth. Aum Namah Shivaya!

Guruji, why one should not have the desire for the fruits or results after doing one’s karma? Is it not but natural to feel so?

Photo: Q: Guruji, why one should not have the desire for the fruits or results after doing one’s karma? Is it not but natural to feel so?

Guruji : Ok, then go ahead and keep the desire . It is not said that you should not have the desire or expectation for the result. But you do not have any control over the result. If you get a thing even before the need/desire for it arises, it is a sign of Atibhagya (great fortune). What is the meaning of Bhagya (Good fortune)? It is when you get a thing, which becomes available to you even before the need for it arises. The slightly less fortunate ones are those who get a thing when they desire it. When everything becomes available even without asking, it is Siddhi (an extraordinary ability). One whose desires get fulfilled after asking is a little less fortunate than the one whose desires are fulfilled without having to even ask. And if there is someone in whose mind so many desires arise but who gets very little after so much effort, such a person is even less fortunate. One who only toils the whole life and doesn’t get the results he desires is the least fortunate of all. Now how can one cross from one step of the ladder to the other? It is possible by Satkarma (good actions or merits). Doing Sadhana, Seva and Satsang all helps in this.

The Butterfly Effect

Photo: The Butterfly Effect

How Your Life Really Matters

How significant is my life? Do I really matter?

In 1963, Edward Lorenz presented a hypothesis to the New York Academy of Science. His theory stated simply, was that:

A butterfly could flap its wings and set molecules of air in motion, which would move other molecules of air, in turn moving more molecules of air—eventually capable of starting a hurricane on the other side of the planet.

Lorenz and his ideas were literally laughed out of the conference. What he had proposed was ridiculous. It was preposterous. But it was fascinating!

Therefore, because of the idea’s charm and intrigue, the so-called “butterfly effect” became a staple of science fiction, remaining for decades a combination of myth and legend spread only by comic books and bad movies.

Science has shown the butterfly effect to engage with the first movement of any form of matter - including people. So imagine the scientific community’s shock and surprise when, more than thirty years after the possibility was introduced, physics professors working from colleges and universities worldwide came to the conclusion that the butterfly effect was authentic, accurate, and viable.

Soon after, it was accorded the status of a “law.” Now known as The Law of Sensitive Dependence Upon Initial Conditions, this principle has proven to be a force encompassing more than mere butterfly wings.

Imagine what could happen in our lives, our relationships, or our businesses if we were able to put away our self doubts and fears, and MAKE JUST ONE MOVE that could dramatically affect how we live today.

Everything you do matters. Every move you make, every action you take matters

Our hope for our families, our places of worship, our businesses, our nation and world is an incredible life of permanent purpose that can be achieved when at last we understand: Every move we make and action we take, matters not just for us, but for all of us…and for all time.

Welcoming and resisting

Photo: Welcoming and resisting

Do you welcome all that comes to you or do you resist it? If you cannot resist anything, you cannot welcome anything! You cannot resist everything and you cannot welcome everything! You don't welcome all thoughts that come to your mind. When you welcome a thought, it means you find it good and act on it. If you act on all thoughts that come to your mind, you will end up in a mental hospital or in prison. So, you resist or ignore some thoughts and welcome other thoughts. You need discrimination in life. Welcoming and resisting is a swing in life. Welcoming is essential for expansion and growth, and resistance is essential for maintenance.

Audience: But what you resist persists!

Guruji: If you resist a cold it does not persist! If there is no resistance in your body you cannot survive. Your body resists something and welcomes something.

Where the resistance is weak, the persistence happens. A weak resistance makes the opposition persist. A strong resistance erases the opposition. Strong resistance leads to valour, power and samadhi (equanimity). It brings in you the strength of a warrior. Nothing can tempt you, nothing can obstruct you. Then the victory is gained without fighting. Where there is strong resistance or total welcome, the victory is gained without any fighting.

The divine feminine

Photo: The divine feminine

Craving and aversion are two asuras (demons) like "Madhu" and "Kaitabha". Then there is also "Raktabijasura", that which is in your genes. "Rakta" means blood, "bija" means seed. Raktabijasura is like gene in the blood. Sometimes your behaviour is not in your control - it's in your genes, Raktabijasura. Medication and meditation are required to tackle Raktabijasura. When such energy comes to you, transformation happens, the genes change.

Then there is "Mahishasura" - dullness. Dullness like a buffalo. You need "Shakti" (energy) to deal with this. When Shakti comes, inertia is lifted out. "Shumbha" and "Nishumbha" - doubting on everything. "Shumbha" means doubting oneself and "Nishumbha" means doubting others. Doubting at every step. These days people are so busy. Mind is so clogged, so occupied, no time to think of oneself. If someone insults you, don't think it as intentional.

"Chanda" and "Munda". Chanda means opposite head. Chanda will oppose anything you say. One who cannot agree with anything. "Munda" does not have a head at all. Whatever you tell them, it will all go in air. Then there is "Dhumralochana", "Dhumra" means smoke and "lochana" means eyes – smoky eyes. They see everything hazy.

All this is due to lack of Shakti. When you are full of energy and enthusiasm none of these rakshasas (demons) can come in you.The beginning is always associated with feminine energy. While time is considered male, space is always regarded as being feminine and the whole universe is a combination of both time and space. You came into the world with the mother as your creator. The Navratri or nine holy nights in Hindu tradition signifies new beginnings. The season is one that celebrates the New Year variously as Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Navroz, soon after the Moon enters the first part of Aries.

Mahakaal or time is always male energy, but since space is feminine, the beginning of time is viewed as something that celebrates the latter. The nine days of Navratri are marked as days special to the Divine Mother.

Significance of nine

The universe is made of multiples of three - 3, 6 and 9. It takes three forces to make the universe stable. Every atom has neutron, electron and proton - three things to make it stable. We have three stages of consciousness - waking, sleeping and dreaming. Rajas, tamas and satva are three qualities of Prakriti or nature. Multiple of the numeral three is nine, and therefore the first three days of Navratri are devoted to tamas, the next three days are reserved for rajas and the last three days are set aside for satva. The celebration begins with tamas.

The unborn baby remains in the mother's womb for nine months and nine days. The baby is secure and comfortable inside, and does not have to do anything. Everything is taken care of. The birth of the baby and the coming of the spirit create vibrancy, energy and enthusiasm. Similarly, the nine days of Navratri reveal the importance of the inward journey which is essential for outward expression. You sow the seed deep into the soil and then it sprouts and grows to become a tree. In the same way, the nine days of Navratri present an opportunity for all to go within and then emerge, ready to create. That is why on the tenth day of Sharad Navratri before winter sets in, we celebrate Vijaya Dashmi as a day of victory and new beginnings.

Three devis, four navratris

The first three days are tamo guna pradhan, then the next three are rajjo guna pradhan and the last three days are satva guna pradhan. That is, the first three days are devoted to Kali, the destroyer of the existing system; the next three days are devoted to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and last three days are devoted to Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge that springs from both destruction and creation.

There are actually four sets of Navratris coinciding with the four seasons, as the whole of Creation goes through a kind of transformation with each changing season. Of the four Navratris, two are more important. In the south, Navratri is not only a time of fasting and prayer, it is also a time to exhibit cultural excellence. So every household in South India displays statues and figures of deities and sacred objects - these are normally arranged neatly on a stand with odd-numbered step-shelves. Sprouted lentil-based snacks and other dishes are served to visitors and this is a time to meet friends and relatives.

Sowing the seed

All festivals begin with beejaropan, the sowing of seeds. This is an ancient practice. In all our festivals, we have always been concerned with the environment and have revered water and seeds. We have a tradition of planting nine different seeds during Navratri. It also shows the importance of planting multi crops so that agriculture is sustainable, as opposed to mono-crop or single crop cultivation. Earlier, there was a tradition among farmers to sow multi crops, so that if one crop failed, there would be other crops they could rely on. Also multi crops will not deplete the nutrients in soil unlike single crop plantations.

'Lord Rama' & 'Lord Krishna' are one & the same being

Photo: 'Lord Rama' & 'Lord Krishna' are one & the same being :

"Lord Rama" is God & people worship Him as the divine incarnation of the Supreme , "Lord Vishnu". It is said that "Lord Rama" was born at the time of Demon King Ravana, when due to Ravana's evil rule, religious practices were on the decline. So to deliver the mankind at that time from evil forces, "Lord Vishnu", who lives on the higher planet in His transcendental form, descended on earth. It is said that Lord Vishnu descended on the earth in the form of "Lord Rama" in "Treta Yuga" or "Treta Millennium".

"Lord Krishna" is God & people worship Him as the divine incarnation of the Supreme, Lord Vishnu. It is said that "Lord Krishna" was born at the time of King Kansa, when due to Kansa's evil rule, religious practices were on the decline. So to deliver the mankind at that time from evil forces, "Lord Vishnu", again descended on the earth. It is said that Lord Vishnu descended on the earth in the form of "Lord Krishna" in "Dwapra Yuga" or "Dwapra Millennium".

The above two paragraphs clearly tell us that Supreme God, "Lord Vishnu" descends on the earth to deliver the mankind from time to time. In "Treta Yuga" or "Treta Millennium" He took the form of "Lord Rama" & in "Dwapra Yuga" or "Dwapra Millennium" He took the form of "Lord Krishna". As it is Supreme God, "Lord Vishnu" who descends on the earth from time to time, so both "Lord Rama" & "Lord Krishna" are the forms of Supreme God, "Lord Vishnu" only & hence are one & the same being. As per the Hindu scriptures "Lord Vishnu" shall again descend on the earth in "Kali Yuga" or "Kali Millennium" as "Lord Kalki". Below verses of Bhagwat Gita also establish the above said facts.

Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Four verse 6:

"ajo ’pi sann avyayatma
bhutanam isvaro ’pi san
prakritim svam adhisthaya
sambhavamy atma-mayaya" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Four verse 6)

"Sri Krishna says to Arjuna: Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates, and although I am the Lord of all living entities, I still appear in every millennium in My original transcendental form."

Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Four verse 7:

"yada yada hi dharmasya
glanir bhavati bharata
abhyutthanam adharmasya
tadatmanam srjamy aham" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Four verse 7)

"Sri Krishna says to Arjuna: Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O Arjuna, and a predominant rise of irreligion—at that time I descend Myself."

Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Four verse 8:

"paritranaya sadhunam
vinasaya cha duskritam
dharma-samsthapanarthaya
sambhavami yuge yuge" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Four verse

"Sri Krishna says to Arjuna: To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium."

Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Ten verse 31:

"pavanah pavatam asmi
ramah shastra-bhrtam aham
jhasanam makaras chasmi
srotasam asmi jahnavi" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Ten verse 31)

"Sri Krishna says to Arjuna: Of purifiers I am the wind, of the wielders of weapons I am Rama, of fishes I am the shark, and of flowing rivers I am the Ganges."

In this "Chapter Ten-Verse 31", "Lord Krishna" himself is clearly saying that "of the wielders of weapons, He himself is Lord Rama." So this verse also clearly establishes that "Lord Rama" & "Lord Krishna" are the forms of Supreme God, "Lord Vishnu" only & hence are one & the same being.

BRAHMA PURANA 2 - More Creation

Photo: BRAHMA PURANA – 2

More Creation

To continue with the process of creation, Brahma gave birth to a man and a woman from his own body. The man was named Svayambhuva Manu and the woman was named Shatarupa. Humans are descended from Manu. That is the reason they are known as manava. Manu and Shatarupa had three sons named Vira, Priyavrata and Uttanapada.

Uttanapada's son was the great Dhruva. Dhruva performed very difficult meditation (tapasya) for three thousand divine years. Brahma was so pleased at this that he granted Dhruva an eternal place in the sky, near the constellation that is known as saptarshi or the seven sages. This is the constellation Ursa Majoris and Dhruva is the pole Star.

In Dhruva's line there was a king named Prachinavarhi. Prachinavarhi had ten sons, known as the Prachetas. These Prachetas were supposed to look after the world and rule over it, but they were not interested in such mundane matters. They went off instead to perform tapasya under the ocean. The tapasya went on for ten thousand years. The upshot was that the earth had no ruler and began to suffer. People started to die and thick forests sprouted everywhere. So thick were the forests that even the winds could not blow.

News of this catastrophe reached the Prachetas. They were furious with the trees and created wind (vayu) and fire (agni) from their mouths. The wind dried up the trees and the fire burnt them, so that, very soon, there were very few trees left on earth.

Everyone was alarmed at the effects of the Prachetas anger. The moon-god Soma (or Chandra) came to the Prachetas with a beautiful woman and said, "Prachetas, please control your anger. You need someone to rule over the world so that you can concentrate on your tapasya. This woman is named Marisha. Her son will rule over the world".

The Prachetas agreed to this proposal and Daksha was born. The word praja means subject and the word pati means master. Since Daksha ruled over the world and its subjects, Daksha came to be known as Prajapati.

The sages interrupted Romaharshana. They said, "Sage, we are completely confused. We have heard that Daksha was born from Brahma's toe. And yet you have told us that Daksha was the son of the Prachetas. How is this possible?"

Romaharshana replied, "There is no reason for bewilderment. Many Dakshas have been born to rule over the world. One was born from Brahma's toe, yet another was the son of the Prachetas."

Guruji, I am not able to keep any commitments. How to keep commitments?

Photo: Q: Guruji, I am not able to keep any commitments. How to keep commitments?

Guruji : If you have accepted that you cannot keep any commitment, then you have refused to improve. Because you are seeking pleasure and comfort. Commitment puts you on track and eventually brings pleasure. If you cannot keep commitment, that much misery you will face. Be prepared for it. If you do not want misery, you have to honor some commitments. It is not possible to honor every single commitment. That is where Lord Krishna's example is the best. He said I will not lift a weapon in war. Then in the war he saw that Bheeshma is not listening, he took his Sudarshan Chakra. Based on what is better for the greater good, he changed his commitment. If you have made a foolish commitment, when you become intelligent you should let go your foolish commitment.

===================

Thousands of events may come and create doubt within you, despite that if you move on with courage and strength, then one can say that you have true faith. A person with strong faith will never face failure or have any downfall in life.

===================

Q: Why is there suffering in love?

Guruji : Without knowledge, there is suffering in love too. Despite knowledge, if there is suffering, then accept it. That is the nature of love.

Reflect on this

A rich Italian father was celebrating his only son’s birthday. The high light of the day’s program was a football match. The stadium was flooded with people who longed to watch the enthralling match between two famous teams of Italy. The crowd roared with joy as the teams competed with each other, but the birthday boy watched the game without enthusiasm.

He looked at his father and said sulkily, ‘Dad! Why are you so stingy?’

The father who had spent some millions of dollars for the celebration of his only son’s birthday was perplexed. He looked at his son surprisingly.

The son explained, ‘In this hot sun, look how these fellows are chasing only one ball. How sad? Could you not be little more generous in providing each one of them a ball so that they could play with them happily?’

At times we are just like this boy! We fail to notice the joyful, energizing aspects of many incidents taking place in front of us. Instead, we brood on meaningless issues and miss all the fun in life.

Atheism Is Not a Reality

Photo: Atheism Is Not a Reality

It is difficult to see God as formless and it is difficult to see God as form. The formless is so abstract and God in a form appears to be too limited. So some people prefer to be atheists.
Atheism is not a reality, it is just a matter of convenience. When you have a spirit of enquiry, or in search of truth, atheism falls apart. With a spirit of enquiry, you cannot deny something which you have not disproved. An atheist denies God without first disproving it. In order to disprove God, you must have enormous knowledge. And when you have enormous knowledge, you cannot disprove it! For one to say that something does not exist, one should know about the whole universe. So you can never be one hundred percent atheist. An atheist is only a believer who is sleeping!

For a person to say, "I don't believe in anything", means he must believe in himself - so he believes in himself about whom he does not even know!

An atheist can never be sincere because sincerity needs depth - and an atheist refuses to go to his depth. Because the deeper he goes, he finds a void, a field of all possibilities - he has to accept that there are many secrets he does not know. He would then need to acknowledge his ignorance, which he refuses to do, because the moment he is sincere, he seriously starts doubting his atheism. A doubt-free atheist is next to impossible! So you can never be a sincere and doubt-free atheist.

No Human Being Is Perfect!

Photo: No Human Being Is Perfect!

Do you like yourself? Your whole self? Most young people have trouble with the way they perceive themselves. They fail to see value in themselves, fail to see talent, and fail to see ability. It's wrong!

You are not the only one in the world with negative feelings about yourself! We all have something we don't like in our body as well as our mind for that matter.

Let's figure out what is this problem all about and fix it as soon as we can.

On one side, we have ones labeled as 'gifted '.They are the motivated ones, the ones that have passion, popularity most of the time and turn heads everywhere they go. Some youngsters actually earn that through hard-work.

On the other hand...well... most of us know what means to be sitting in a corner, away from the spotlight and wondering: "I wish I knew that popularity too, it must be so cool!"

Most members of today`s society fail to notice that there is no such thing as 'gifted 'and 'ungifted'. We fail to appreciate diversity!

Diversity is what gives this world color, vivacity and uniqueness; we would be so much happier if we learned to appreciate the small things that people do, say or express in any other way!

Look in the mirror! See those freckles? (This is just an example. The freckles may very well be your hair, your voice or whatever makes you feel uncomfortable with yourself). Of course you do! You've been wondering how to get rid of those for quite a while now, haven't you?

The freckles aren't the problem! And don't think your eye-sight is perfect because you can see all these little 'flaws'! Actually, these are the very things blindfolding you and stop you from exploring your real potential and seeing what you are truly made of!

Bothering yourself with this kind of details consumes your precious time and energy while your real potential is just held back and screaming: "I need attention! Look at me, I am here!"

Most young people (and not only them), end up living focused on the insignificant aspects of their being while missing out on such great opportunities that life has in store for them ! As a result, they live a dull life and fail to quench their inner thirst for knowledge, passion or adventure.

It's a dreadful tragedy to see people failing for no reason! Because there is something taking up precious mental, spiritual and physical resources. These are not just some exaggerations. We simply tend to take these things lightly because so many among us confront themselves with these problems so we tend its "normal".

Good news and some bad ones!

Let us start with the good, saying that these inferiority feelings are all in our head! They do NOT represent reality! It is us who don't like freckles and turn them into "mountains"! Nobody else really cares!" Think of you! Do you care about someone else's freckles? No, and maybe you don't even see them until that person starts complaining about them.

We can change everything if we learn to change the way we think and consequently take off the nasty blindfold!

It is only then when we can start exploring our real potential plus love what our mirror portrays us to be .We'll also learn that the only things that can be labeled are jars, not people! We can feel the sparkle and finally know how it's like to shine because of who we are and because of our gifts.

On the other hand (the bad news), even though it's all in our head, it takes practice to change the way our mind works and it isn't that easy to modify the process. It would have been much easier if we had not let these false images of ourselves creep into our mind in the first place, yet there's no use in beating ourselves up for that. Most of what is done can be undone!

With that being said, let's start even if it might turn out to be a bumpy ride and just consider every bump a massage.

The trick is to learn to love everything that makes you different and unique. You might have heard this phrase one too many times, but that's just because people, have experienced these things and came to the same conclusion: there is something special in EVERY person! You add color and substance to the place you are. Why not add a lovely color?

What we see as 'perfect people', are not in the real world because no human being is perfect. That is why pencils have erasers...

Why lord shiva fell at Goddess Kali's feet?

Why lord shiva fell at Goddess Kali's feet?

It happened once, that the world was threatened by the Asuras (demons). The demons rallied together to overthrow the gods and gain control of the earth. The leader of this uprising was Raktabija, the demon-general. Through the practice of austerities, Raktabija was granted a boon. This boon, granted by Brahma, allowed Raktabija's power to increase by a thousand every time a drop of his blood was spilled.

The demon soldiers, led by Raktabija, came forth and the gods trembled with outrage. The demons ravaged the earth and its inhabitants. Who would rid the world of this monster? In desperation the gods turned to their Shakti (female energy) counterparts. The great and beautiful goddess Durga stepped forward. She had protected them before and was obliged to do it again. Armed with the weapons of the gods, Durga rode into battle on a tiger, her champion mount. She switched goddess forms many time during battle, slaying demon soldiers as quickly as they advanced until all that remained was the demon-general.

The battle between Raktabija and the Devi ensued. Durga charged again and again; Raktabija's blood spilled everywhere. From each drop of blood a thousand more demons like him sprang up. Full armies arose from the puddles of Raktabija's blood. Demons advanced on the goddess by the thousands. They rode on elephants and horse drawn chariots. They laughed and shouted at the goddess' dilemma. Upon seeing this, Durga became enraged. She knitted her brows in absolute fury. From this concentration came Kali, the Terrible One.

The whole universe shook with the thundering roar of this powerfully terrible goddess. Those demons who stood nearest the mighty Devi were consumed within the roaring rage of energy. Kali emerged, naked except for a covering of tiger skin. Her skin was of the deepest black, and hung loosely on Her bones. This mad skeleton of a hag was armed with a skull topped staff, a noose, and the sword of Vengeance. She appeared most frightening with her blood red eyes, sunken deep into her skull, wild with raw power anxious to be unleashed and a third eye flaming brilliantly from her forehead. Her entangled black hair blew wildly about Her shoulders.

She turned her furious gaze upon the demon armies, half fell lifeless from the deadly grip of Her stare. She let out a loud and petrifying shriek and more fell dead to the ground at Kali's feet. With wild cackling, She advanced on Her enemies. She reached out with her claw-like hands and shoveled some of the remaining demons into her gaping mouth.

The rest turned away in fear of this ferocious Devi. The skies were filled with the sound of Her shrieking laughter. But Kali didn't stop at that. She stretched out Her bright red tongue and swallowed all of the elephants and their riders as they tried to run. The horse drawn chariots disappeared with another mouthful into the abyss of Dark Goddess.

With his armies fully destroyed, again the great Devi faced off with Raktabija. Kali pierced the demon in the side and quickly caught the flowing blood with her tongue and drank it greedily. The life energy of Rakatibija flowed out with his dripping blood like wine from a bottle. This time he was not given the chance to raise more demons from his blood. He was helpless in the face of this terrifying hag. Kali lifted him high in the air so she could more easily drain the blood from his body. Finally, drunken with the blood of victory, Kali, threw away the demon-general's corpse. The world was saved. . . . .almost.

It was time for Kali to begin her victory dance among the demon corpses. By now She was drunk from Raktabija's blood and the effect it had on Her caused her to dance wildly. As She danced She threw Her head back and again filled the skies with her shrill cackling.

Her terrible laughter drew the attention of the gods who then came to see the outcome of the battle. They watched as she weaved in and out between the bodies of the demons. As she went she snatched up tokens of victory. From the demon hands she created a belt and from their heads she fashioned a garland which she wore around her neck. Her dancing grew more and more frenzied as she slipped into a trance. Her feet pounded out destruction with each step upon the earth.

Soon the demon corpses were reduced to mush, yet Kali continued dancing. It seemed as though nothing would stop Her, and again the world was on the verge of collapse. Something had to be done, and soon. The gods begged Shiva to intervene and calm Kali before it was too late.

Shiva did not yet believe that the world would be destroyed. As Lord of the Dance, He himself was enjoying the fine display of dancing. He laughed and waved the other gods away. "Let Kali enjoy herself,"he said, "Her job was well done."That was right before he was unseated by the thunderous pounding of Kali's dance. When he attempted to right himself, another foot step from the Devi sent him flying in the air. He then understood the full force of what was taking place. He hurried down to the other gods. They again beseeched him to do something.Shiva called out to Kali, but She could not hear him, such was the fever that raced through Her. She continued pounding what was left of demon flesh into oblivion. She rattled her staff and shook her great head. Her hair whipped wildly about causing great winds to carry off a few of the gods that were near by. She turned about, and lifted her arms to the sky, laughing crazily all the while. Nothing could stop this display of raw energy.

Shiva called out again, but again His words went unheard. Finally in an act of complete desperation, Shiva threw Himself down beneath Her feet.Kali continued her frenzied dancing, pounding the life out of her husband. It was a few moments more before She realized that it was indeed Her husband, Shiva, who lay flattened at Her feet. This quickly brought Her out of Her trance, and She was once more the calm Devi.

Once more the world was saved from total destruction. Shiva's quick and selfless thinking had balanced the Devi's dance of destruction. With the world now safe, the gods returned to their regular routines.Share your thoughts if you have heard about this story. How you feel about it!
