Lord Shiva with His moon and cobra in Prominence, is suggestive of a deeply meditative trance.

Photo: Shiva Chandrashekhar. Lord Shiva with His moon and cobra in Prominence, is suggestive of a deeply meditative trance. The cobra stands for arisen Kundalini. And the moon is an excellent symbol for the play of consciousness , being full always , it appears to be phasing , just like the Atma is always connected to Paratman, but appears to be an ordinary Jiva. Note that the artist has also painted the full moon at the background, in addition to the moon on Shiva's forehead indicating this esoteric truth. Aum Namah Shivaya!
