KRISHNA AND ARJUN

KRISHNA AND ARJUN
“Have you heard of Krishna and his Geeta?” Asked the Yogi.
“Yes”, said the snake. “It was a sermon delivered by God, Krishna, unto man, Arjun ; A warrior, on a battlefield. Arjun was reluctant to lift his arms against his own kin who stood opposite him on the same ground. Arjun worried about the Dharma, of what was right and what wrong, Krishna guided him about relationships, personal and transpersonal, of duty, of priority, of life, of death, and of consequent action.”
“Let me put it like this” , said the Yogi, “ Krishna is Consciousness. Arjun, is the voice of conscience, that needs to be directed to a higher, all pervasive truth. Each one of us contains a battlefield within. The war, is within, Arjun, is within, Krishna too is within. You must locate that Krishna, and then, he will redirect Arjun.
Actually, Krishna and Arjun are both consciousness, but Krishna is conscious about this and Arjun needs to be made conscious of it.”
“I am beginning to understand” , said the snake, “ perhaps, Arjun too, felt like a snake, having to kill his own for survival”.
“Now, listen” , said the Yogi, “ conscience is part of you. It says softly, do this, do not do that; but it is prone to getting overruled. Consciousness is the whole of you. It observes, infers, and then says with authority, I did this, this is what happened, therefore, I am not interested in doing it again. Conscience is a small warning, Consciousness is a large learning. This, by no way means that Consciousness will license you to do anything; on the contrary, it will so transform you that you shall grow out of whatever it was that your conscience did not allow. Your urge, will not be repressed, it shall be transcended.”
“How does one transcend that which is not repressed?” asked the snake.
“Let us say, your conscience does not permit you to abuse your subordinates in a fit of anger. Yet, every time you are angry, you go on abusing them. Again your conscience will retribute you for it, and this can go on and on. Your Consciousness, on the other hand, will show you the futility of this act, grow you out of it, and, in time, even give you a substitute for anger, so that you may still function. Your conscience makes you feel guilty for those who are more deprived than you; your Consciousness will actually do something about the deprived.
Conscience has undeniable value, we cannot do without it, but, it is a beginner’s guide, it must lead you to the senior guide; Consciousness.”
“Arjun must locate Krishna? “ asked the snake
“Like Arjun”, continued the Yogi, “conscience is always at war with its cousin, passion. Both of them originate from the heart family, they are both self opinionated, and keep vanquishing each other in turns.
Consciousness, is all embracing, so it is open for discussion, without any
pre-set opinions, it therefore, has no one to vanquish, instead, it admits both conscience and passion in its fold, and keeps redirecting them, till, they harmonise together at a crescendo level, the level of Oneness, and grow harmoniously together.”
“But did not Krishna align himself with Arjun against the Kauravas? “asked the snake.
“Yes, But you forget that it was the war within Arjun, that Krishna wanted for Arjun to transcend; since the outside war had already been rendered unavoidable by circumstances. Cosmic Consciousness is Aware of outside wars, but their redirection requires a longer time, it begins with the redirection of individuals” , said the Yogi, with a deep gaze. “Meditate upon this”.
