"Abandon those who cannot understand you. The relation with God and the love of God are the only elements that are true and eternal, all other relationships are unreal and temporary" ~ Tulsidas to Meera, who had manifested a deep devotion to Krishna. Meera would go to the temple of Lord Krishna, worship, sing and dance before Lord Krishna's Idol daily. Her husband, mother-in-law and others didnt like it. Tortures and scandals continued but she had given up her life to her beloved Krishna. She remained steadfast on her path. The name of God can convert even poison into nectar. Meera used to contemplate constantly on the name of Krishna and Krishna saved her by changing the poison into nector when her husband tried to kill her. It is on account of her renunciation, single-minded devotion to Lord Krishna and the self-realisation that she is remembered so reverently. She conversed with Krishna. She ate with Krishna. She drank the Krishna premarasa. She sang from the core of her heart about her unique spiritual experiences. She was indeed one of the foremost embodiments of Premabhakti, divine love. She continued to offer unalloyed devotion to Krishna till she merged in Krishna On Janmashtami at the Dwarkadhish temple in Dwarka Saurashtra. People watched in awe, there was a lightning which enveloped Meera and the sanctum doors closed on their own. When the doors opened again, Meera’s saree was enveloping Krishna’s idol and her voice and the flute accompaniment were the only sounds that could be heard. "O Lord, let me merge into you now!!!!!!!"
