The worship of Lord Vishnu is very popular among Hindus

”Shanta Karam Bhujaga Shayanam.
Padmanabham Suresham.
Vishvadharam Gagana Sadrusham.
Megha Varnam Shubhangam.
Lakshmi Kantam Kamala Nayanam.
Yogibhir Dhyana Gamyam.
Vande Vishnum Bhava Bhaya Haram,
Sarva Lokaia Kanatham.”
๐Ÿ•‰O God, You are the embodiment of peace. You are as vast as the sky. You are the sustainer of the universe. You are formless. You are great. O embodiment of goodness, Lord of wealth and beauty, You are the object of meditation for the wise and God-realized.”
๐Ÿ•‰Lord Vishnu is the aspect of the Supreme Reality that sustains and preserves the creation. He is the second member of the Hindu Trinity, with Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma as the other two. According to Hindu tradition, Lord Vishnu reigns in heaven with his wife, Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of fortune, wealth, and prosperity.
The worship of Lord Vishnu is very popular among Hindus, particularly among Vaishnavism – the followers of the Vaishnava tradition.
He has incarnated in different life forms through different ages, in situations where Dharma was in danger, because of certain evil elements in the world. He appeared in principal Avatars.
1.Matsya (fish) – shares with the rest of the universe a generic belief that at one time the planet was threatened with a great flood and a savior in a boat preserved all life forms.
2.Kurma (tortoise) – sustains the earth on his back.
3.Varaha (boar) – raises the earth from the bottom of the sea, where it was dragged down by a demon, known as Hiranyaksha.
4.Narasimha (man-lion) – defies classification and overpowers mortals who seek to outwit death.
5.Vamana (dwarf) – the 4th descendant of Hiranyakashyap, Bali, with penance and devotion, was able to defeat Lord Indra, lord of Svargaloka.
6.Parasurama (the warrior with an axe) – a priest who turns to violence to kill unchaste women and unrighteous kings.
7.Lord Rama – kills Ravana, the demon king of Lanka.
8.Lord Krishna (the divine statesman) – the most popular incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Krishna’s contributions throughout his life include the spiritual teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna.
9.Buddha – the founder of Buddhism, from the Kali Yuga, is commonly included as an avatar of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism.
10.Kalki (a man on a white horse) – the last incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who is expected to appear at the end of Kali Yuga.
Various versions of the list of Shri Vishnu's avatars exist. Some lists mention Krishna as the eighth avatar and the Buddha as the ninth avatar, while others, such as the Yatindramatadipika, a 17th-century summary of Srivaisnava-doctrine, state Balarama as the eighth avatar and Krishna as the ninth. Some Vaishnavas refuse to accept the Buddha as an incarnation of Vishnu, and instead believe that Balarama is the 8th incarnation, and Krishna the 9th.
The Bhagavata Purana claims that Vishnu has infinite avatars which he takes whenever there is a need to restore cosmic order, however, it still goes on to numerically list out 22 Vishnu avatars in chapter 1.3.
