Lord Shiva is considered to be the father of the whole universe. He is the most divine among all the gods. Also known as “Mahadev’, or greatest god, worshipping Lord Shiva brings prosperity, wealth, health and calms the mind.

When we worship Lord Shiva, we chant Hara Hara Mahadev. "Hara" signifies who remove the distress of his devotees. Lord Shiva is known by numerous names and Hara is a name which is mostly used in "Hara Mahadev". Lord Shiva is called as "Mahadev" in light of the fact that He is the God of gods.

Shiv Shankar Adi Dev ; He is also known as "Shiv Shankar" which means, he who removes obstacles. Lord Shiva is "Aadi Dev" who does not have any beginning nor any birth. Parameshwar Akhileshwar," says, Supreme God, One who is Almighty God, God of everything on the planet. "Tandav Priye Shashishewar" signifies One who likes Tandava Dance, who has a moon on the head.

"Viswadhar Vishwanath Gangadhar Dhiranath" signifies, One who is a purpose behind the world, who is Lord of Universe, who has Ganga on the head, who is Lord of dheer. "Jatajuta Chandradhari" signifies One who has long hair, who adorns the moon on the head.

"Dina ke hitakari" signifies who does the government assistance of poor people. "Gauripati Nandikeshwar" signifies One who is the spouse of Goddess Parvati, who is Lord of Nandi. "Shaileshwar Jagadiswar" signifies who is Lord of Shailesh, who is Lord of the world.

Lord Shiva is the God of nirvana. If you want to achieve mental and spiritual well being, all you need to do is pray to him and worship him with a true heart. Since ages, people have been propagating that there won’t be untimely death if you worship the god of destruction regularly.
