2. After this incident, Lord Shiva engaged in severe penance. Mata Sati was born as Mata Parvati at Parvatraj Himalayas. According to religious beliefs, there was terror of demon Tarkasur during that time. It was a boon that the slaughter of Tarkasur is possible only by the son of Lord Shiva.
