Time Restrictions in traditional
Forest Route from Erumeli to pamba
Issues of presence of wild animals
including Elephant has made the
forest department
to have time restriction. Swamis will
not be allowed to trek from
Koyikkal kavu after 5 PM.
After 2 PM Swamis will not be allowed to pass after Mukkuzhi, owing that they will not be able to reach pamba before it becomes
dark. There are lot of wildanimals
between Oliyampuzha and
Valiyanavattam
During the last Pilgrimage season a youth was killed by a wild elephant.
From Sathram ( Pullumedu route)
after 2 PM they will not be allowed
and from Sannidhanam after 2 PM they will not be allowed back
into the Sathram route. Few Swamis
had been stuck in this route
couple of days back and Forest
Personnel had helped them reach
back Sathram.
So as a
precautionary measure this has
been done
For coordination of Forest
personnel activities in Sannidanam
and Pamba, in Pamba Control
Room Special Officer has been
deputed.
