THE ARROW OF THE DHYANI

Photo: THE ARROW OF THE DHYANI

Thanks Nilesh Pithadiya for sharing you beautiful art of Shivji as an archer.
Lord Shiva has always been associated with His Trisula.
But He is a master of weaponry. In His form as archer, he is supposed to be Sarva. The bow and arrow, as we learn from the great archer Arjun, is also both the perfect symbol, and tool for one pointed focus and concentration.Truly, Dhyana, meditation is the bow from which the meditator shoots the arrow of the Self, To the Self!
I note that the artist has also made a Cobra hood on the Bow. As we all Know, there is always a snake wrapped around Shiva's neck in embrace, and people often ask what this means. While the snake symbolises many things, as we have posted earlier, the principal spiritual symbol is that of an arisen Kundalini. Shivji's Cobra means that the Self aware Dhyani has awakened His inner Divinity. Here too, therefore,it means it is the inner kundalini , the inner Divinity, which shall lead you to the target of the Supreme consciousness. Aum Namah Shivaya!
