All my vowed observances are intended for the adoration of Vishnu." ~ Lord Shiva in Garuda Purana. ‪Lord Shiva is a param yogi established in meditation. This is the ultimate state which can be achieved in meditation when the muladhara chakra rises through the spinal chord and merges into the sahasra chakra which is in form of a lotus at top of the head. The kundalini power is activated in the samadhi state. The yogi who is successful in completely immerse in meditation becomes the supreme soul and there is nothing more to accomplish for such a person. Such a yogi becomes detached from all the material comforts of life and is established in eternal spiritual tranquility. Since Lord Shiva meditated all the time he became the supreme soul and hence he lived like a total ascetic in constant meditation to avoid distractions of material life. Always mediating , Shiva chants Raam Naam. Shiva always meditates on Shri Vishnu. While Shiva was immersed in deep meditation, Maa Parvati one day bows down to him in devotion and asks him “O Lord, I have to ask you a question. The whole world meditates upon you, everyone is praying to you, meditating upon you, contemplating you, upon whom are you meditating?” "I always meditate on Vishnu.
