Pradosh vrat is famous among Hindu vrats marked to worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Pradosh vrat is famous among Hindu vrats marked to worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Pradosh vrat is performed on Trayodashi tithi (13th day) of Krishna and Shukla Paksha of each Hindu month. As a result, it appears twice a month in the Hindu calendar. If the Pradosh Vrat falls on a Monday, it is known as Soma Pradosham. On Tuesdays, it is known as Bhuma Pradosham, and on Saturdays, it is called Shani Pradosham.
The Pradosh vrat can be observed by all irrespective of the age and gender. People in different parts of the country observe this vrat with full devotion and dedication. This Vrat is observed in honour Shiva And Maa Parvati. The word ‘pradosh’ in Hindi means 'belonging or relating to the evening' or 'first part of the night'. As this sacred vrat is observed during the ‘Sandhyakaal’ that is the evening twilight, it is called as the Pradosh vrat.
On the day of Pradosh fast, Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati are worshipped. Make offerings to Bholenath of gangajal, dhatura, belpatra, akshat, incense, fruits, flowers, and kheer. On this day, it is important to recite Shiv Chalisa and Shivashtak. Devotees chant "Om Namah Shivaya " as many times as they can in remembering Lord Shiva with Pradosh Vrat Katha.
A person whose moon is causing a disturbance in the horoscope should observe this day's fast with full devotion. It is believed that one who observes this revered fast with devotion and faith is bound to possess contentment, wealth, and good health. Worshipping on this day brings pleasure and wealth into home.
The Skanda Purana specifically mentions the advantages of the Pradosh vrat. One who follows this respected fast with dedication and faith is believed to be blessed with contentment, money, and good health. Pradosh vrat is also practised for spiritual upliftment and fulfilment of aspirations.
