Spiritual things people should do on Thursdays—

Thursday is an important day in Hinduism and dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Known as Brihaspativar, people in order to bring prosperity and wealth, worship Lord Vishnu on this day.

There are certain things listed in sacred Hindu texts that needs to be followed on a Thursday.

Wear Yellow—

Yellow is believed to be a sacred colour in Hinduism. It represents knowledge and learning. All the clothes that are worn by Shri Vishnu are yellow in colour. People who are Shri Vishnu devotees and seek his blessings should therefore wear yellow clothes on this day.

Worship Lord Vishnu—

Chanting Shri Vishnu mantras is believed to bring Goddess Lakshmi home. Maa Lakshmi is a symbol of wealth and happiness. So, people who religiously worship Lord Vishnu on Thursdays are blessed with good wealth.

Offer Chana Dal—

Chana dal is offered to Lord Vishnu in temples or to banana tree on Thurdays. One can also offer jaggery to the god as it is also yellow in colour.

Worship Banana Tree—

To impress Lord Vishnu, devotees should worship Banana tree. After the prayers, one should offer water or light a diya (earthen lamp) in the morning.

Satyanarayan Katha—

There are many Shri Vishnu devotees who fast on Thursdays to please the God. People even hold Satyanarayan Katha at their homes to win his heart and bring peace and prosperity in house.

Donate—

It is very important to donate food, money or clothes to poor and needy on a Thursday. Donating is considered a spiritual thing and therefore people should do it.
