Monday is dedicated to lord Shiva in Hinduism. Praying to him on this particular day is extremely auspicious. It is believed that it does not take much to please the god and the modest god is sometimes even pleased by devotees who offer him just water and small things.
The easiest method to worship Shiva has been mentioned in the scriptures. It is small and simple but also full proof to please him. It is known as ‘Panchopchar’. It means a worship using five methods or materials.
Here’s how to perform the ‘Panchopchar’ to please Shiva Ji:
1. Get up early in the morning and take a bath
2. Dress in white clothes
3. Offer sandalwood, flowers, cow’s milk and incense to the Shiva idol.
4. Chant the following mantras:
ॐ नम: शिवाय
ॐ शंकराय नम:
ॐ महेश्वराय नम:
ॐ विष्णुवल्लभाय नम:
5. Offer sweets made of fruit or milk.
6. Apologize for all you have done wrong and make a wish.
