The Hidden Reason Behind the Early Death of Swami Vivekananda
The Hidden Reason Behind the Early Death of Swami Vivekananda
“I am making ready for death. A great tapasya (penance) and meditation has come upon me, and I am making ready for death.” – A quote concerning the death of Swami Vivekananda from the book “The Master as I Saw Him” by Sister Nivedita.
Swami Vivekananda’s words to Sister Nivedita, on the Wednesday before his MahaSamadhi (passing).
Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s greatest teachers of Vedanta Philosophy, left his physical body on July 4th, 1902. He was just 39 years of age.
Many people have wondered – what caused an evolved soul like Swami Vivekananda to die at such a young age? Aren’t yogi’s able to extend their own life-span and live for very long periods of time?
Actually, behind the passing of every realized soul such as Swami Vivekananda, there is an immense spiritual reality hidden, which we ordinarily do not grasp. Luckily for us, Swamiji (as he was called), himself revealed the truth in great detail. His amazing answer in the video below!
“Nature, body, mind, go to death, not we. We neither go nor come. The man Vivekananda is in nature, is born and dies; but the Self (soul) we see as Vivekananda is never born and never dies. It is the eternal and unchangeable Reality.”
- Swami Vivekananda
