Shiva is not the simply name of a Hindu deity. Shiva, which means “that which is auspicious,”

Shiva is not the simply name of a Hindu deity. Shiva, which means “that which is auspicious,” refers to the auspicious effect of our contact with the unknown, the nameless, the great mystery, what is beyond all limitation, time, space and action. In this regard, Shiva has no name and also an infinite number of names. It is this inner reality of Shiva that we need to understand, not simply Shiva as a religious deity or a cultural form. Chanting the name of Shiva means going beyond all names. It is the resonance of the cosmic silence. Shiva dwells in the ever wakeful pure awareness that is our true self beyond waking, dream and deep sleep. Where that Shiva state of peace and detachment prevails, the universe returns to its original state of overflowing bliss. Moving into our own deeper Shiva nature we go beyond body and mind, time and space, into the immortal pure light of boundless awareness! Jai Shiva Shankar ~ Jai Bholenath! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»
