Lord Shiva is indeed the greatest example of an ideal husband. He was worshipped and deeply pursued by both Sati and Parvati. They both went through a lot of difficulties to gain his attention, but in the end, they were happy to be his spouse.
What can we learn from the stories of Lord Shiva, Goddess Sati, and Goddess Parvati?
1. You see beyond the physical - They saw something in Lord Shiva, his knowledge, his attitude, and his potential power, that they deeply fell in lovewith.
2. You believe in the person you love - Money can come and go, but the fighting spirit and attitude is important for success. When no one else believes in him except for you, he will grow because of your belief. The parents of both Sati and Parvati were at first apprehensive about the marriage, but later on realized who Lord Shiva truly is as they got to see his true form.
3. You see your marriage as a partnership - In many paintings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, you will see them both sitting beside each other, blessing everyone together. No one was superior or inferior in their relationship. They're both equal to each other, they're both each other's partner. The life you want to live with your partner you have to build with him together.
There is no guarantee for tomorrow, and marrying wealth now but not for attitude does not assure a comfortable, happy life in the future.
As everyone worships Lord Shiva, ask for a husband like Lord Shiva, and ask for a wife like Sati or Parvati.
If you want a husband like Lord Shiva, you have to be like Sati or Parvati. If you want a wife like Sati or Parvati, you have to be like Lord Shiva.
Om Namah Shiva
