यूं तो इस मंत्र का नवरात्रों में विशेष प्रयोग किया जाता है। तांत्रिक इसके सवा लाख, पांच लाख अथवा नौ लाख जाप करके सिद्धियां प्राप्त करते हैं। परन्तु एक आम व्यक्ति भी इस मंत्र से उतना ही लाभ उठा सकता है। इसके लिए आप अपने घर में मां भगवती काली की तस्वीर या प्रतिमा लाएं। सुबह जल्दी नहा-धोकर स्वच्छ वस्त्र पहन कर उस प्रतिमा या तस्वीर के आगे दीपक जलाएं। तिलक लगाएं तथा लाल रंग के पुष्प यथा गुलाब, गुड़हल आदि समर्पित करें। इसके बाद उसी जगह एक आसन पर बैठकर इस मंत्र का 108 बार जप करें। जप के बाद यथायोग्य भोग मां काली को अर्पण करें। यदि आपकी अधिक सामथ्र्य नहीं है तो आप मिश्री के दो दाने भी भोग में अर्पण कर सकते हैं और चाहे तो लाल सेव या अनार का भोग भी मां को लगा सकते हैं।

भोग लगाने के बाद मन ही मन अपनी इच्छा मां को कहें। अपनी इच्छा पूरी होने तक इस प्रयोग को जारी रखें। यदि आपकी इच्छा सात्विक होगी या उससे किसी का अनिष्ट नहीं हो रहा है तो मां कुछ ही दिनों में आपकी मनोकामना पूरी करेगी। यदि आप चाहे तो अपनी इच्छा पूरी होने के बाद भी इस प्रयोग को आजीवन कर सकते हैं।
