WATER OF LIFE
In this very beautiful painting, Mahadeva Shiva is seen to trickle out water from His hands, to flow downwards to all inhabitants of Nature.
It is said by the wise Shaivite rishis, that in Amarnath, Mahadeva told Devi Parvati the Srishti rahasya ( secret of creation) , which is the source of creation, the world, and life itself. The rishis too wanted to know this immortal teaching, but Mahadeva did not share it just then, because to begin with, it was meant for a recipient already as advanced as Parvati Herself.
But afterwards, at Her insistence, He also promised to teach in time, the essence of immortality to all the children who are real seekers :
" Bring forward all manners of tribes in your family, dearest, and I shall give them all the water of life. For I am the Adi and the Antt, the beginning and the end, and when you understand that in the end , you will have to go back to the beginning, the source, then you are knocking on the door of immortality."
