Many are worried about how other faiths will see us. I honestly do not care, because Shaivism does not bow down to compliance to what others dictate to it.
Shaivism is Shaivism, a philosophy focused on knowledge, love, and enlightenment. We have openly presented thoughts and concepts that others find uncomfortable. We have snakes, we have skulls, we have cremation ashes, ghouls, and many more things.
But each of these are symbols to something deeper. That is what Shaivism is all about, going beneath the surface and seeing truth behind speculations. People who do not know about Shaivism will see Shaivism as something evil because these symbols are negative to them.
Negative to them because they fear these symbols and realities rather than understand them.
If you take time to read and understand that Shaivites embrace death to transcend death, and see that EVERYTHING LORD SHIVA HAS CREATED is good if used for their purpose.
Imagine, mercury, which many people consider to be toxic for human consumption or touch, we have solidified mercury and turned it to a mercury lingam! Mercury also has its benefits, for those who have read the scriptures.
In Shaivism, we do not tell or impose what is right or what is wrong. THE LAWS OF NATURE WILL DECIDE. THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTION WILL DECIDE.
One who is a Shaivite LOVES EVERYTHING, UNDERSTANDS EVERYTHING, and works towards creating POSITIVITY.
