Photo: Yatra to holy Sikh Shrine Hemkunt Sahib to resume today News(22.09.2013) #Uttarakhand: Yatra to holy Sikh Shrine Hemkunt Sahib to resume today after its postponement following the natural disaster in June.Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna approved the yatra, State Minorities Commission Narinderjit Singh Bindra said. The Yatra will be conducted from #Joshimath because of the damage to the hotels, lodges and #Gurudwara at #Govindghat.Situated at an altitude of 15,500 feet near the famous Badrinath shrine and surrounded by seven mountain peaks, Hemkund Sahib can be reached only after a 20-kilometre trek from Gobindghat on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway.
