Om Namo Narayana ~ Jai Shri Vishnu!

Om Namo Narayana ~ Jai Shri Vishnu!
Mahabali was a benevolent king of the asuras. Bali went on to succeed his grandfather as the king of the Asuras, and his reign over the realm was characterized by peace and prosperity. He was renowned for his charitable works. The people in his kingdom were happy. He was also the grand son of Prahlada, the foremost Bhakta of Shri Vishnu. Then why did it become necessary for Shri Vishnu to take an Avatar of Vaman, the dwarf, with the specific purpose of banishing him? Shri Vishnu had promised Prahlada, after killing Hiranyakashipu, that He would never ever kill any descendant of Prahlad. He kept his promise and Bali was merely banished to another world, not killed.  It's mentioned in Shrimad Bhagwatam that Mahabali was full of ego and pride. Though he was the epitome of virtue, he still had some traces of Ahankaar in him. He thought he was Almighty and very powerful. Although he was great devotee of Shri Vshnu, it was his ego that forced God to appear in his Vaman Avatar to banish him. God doesn't want his devotees to be egoistic and proud. He quickly sheds their negative traits. Draupadi did not get Krishna's help as long as she was struggling with her ego. Krishna rushed to her help only when she surrendered completely to Him. Ravan was full of ego, Rama was forced to kill him, despite Ravan being a devotee of Rama's Ishwar, Shiva.
Arishadvarg, are the six passions of mind or enemies of desire, the negative characteristics which prevent man from realising the soul, his true being. Kama and krodha or lust and anger are responsible for all kinds of difficult experiences which we have in our lives. With the false ego up and active, all our acting in the world becomes selfish and evil. Hence there is no other factor causing the illusory duality and the repeated pain. When the materially identified ego has sided with the materialistic forces of creation (Maya), it is said to have the following faults ~ kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada or ahankara, and matsarya. Also called evil passions, man's Spiritual heritage constantly gets looted by these internal thieves, causing him to lose knowledge of his True Being. Desire, anger, greed, attachment, pride, jealousy ; these dacoits are residing within your own body. They are not outside. To rob you of the precious gem of spiritual wisdom, of Self-awareness and make you forget your Self, weep and wail and be in ignorance!
Hari Om Tat Sat Namah Shivaya!
