The world is the wheel of Shiva, turning round
And round with all living creatures upon its rim
The world is the river(ganga) of Shiva,
Flowing from him and flowing back to him.
On this ever-revolving wheel of being
The individual self goes round and round
Through life after life, believing itself
To be a separate creature, until
It sees its identity with Shiva the Lord of Love
And attains immortality in the indivisible whole
And round with all living creatures upon its rim
The world is the river(ganga) of Shiva,
Flowing from him and flowing back to him.
On this ever-revolving wheel of being
The individual self goes round and round
Through life after life, believing itself
To be a separate creature, until
It sees its identity with Shiva the Lord of Love
And attains immortality in the indivisible whole
O Lord Shiva, forgive three sins that are due to my human limitations:
Thou art everywhere, but I worship you here;
Thou art without form, but I worship you in these forms;
Thou neediest no praise, yet I offer you these prayers and salutations,
Lord, forgive three sins that are due to my human limitations.
Thou art everywhere, but I worship you here;
Thou art without form, but I worship you in these forms;
Thou neediest no praise, yet I offer you these prayers and salutations,
Lord, forgive three sins that are due to my human limitations.
