Maa Durga is the avatar for empowerment and protection. Meditation on Durga can bring forth warrior-like strength and protective compassion. When you bring her image into your inner world, she can empower your most radical aspirations and guide you through your most conflict-ridden life issues. Durga embodies the inner power to transform yourself ; to let go of addictions, obstacles, illusions and fears. Meditating on Durga can call forth specific powers and qualities within you that come to you from beyond your limited ego and can help you meet challenges & bringing deity energy into the body and mind. Goddesses are especially potent since they personify Shakti, the subtle feminine force that enlivens the world, often considered the power behind spiritual growth. So meditating and chanting mantras of Maa Durga can literally transform energies into your life. Sit in a quiet place, Become aware of the Durga Shakti as a shimmering presence around you. You can visualise her seated on her lion. Offer your salutations to her. Close your eyes and tell her problem you are facing. Offer the obstacles to Durga ~ I offer all this to the Durga Shakti, asking that your grace dissolve all obstacles, inner and outer.” Now, with an inhalation, feel that you breathe in the goddess’s energy. Exhaling, feel that you breathe it through your body and into the world. When you come out of meditation, see if you can move with the feeling that you are walking or moving with the power of the Durga energy. Walk with the sense that Durga is walking. Speak with the sense that Durga’s power comes through your words. Notice how you feel when you let yourself be filled by the energy of Durga.! Peace! जय महादेवी ~~ जय माँ शक्ति !!
