In Varanasi there is a tradition of celebrating Rang Bhari Ekadashi. Offering gulal and flower petals to Lord Shiva the devotees carry out a procession with the idols of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati in a 'palaki' from Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
In Kashi , Rangbhari Ekadashi is believed to be the beginning of Holi celebrations. Completely drenched in dry colour and playing shankh, damru, and other musical instruments, the devotees go to the sanctum sanctorum of Kashi Vishwanath Temple and offer gulal and rose petals to Kashi Vishwanath Ji. Lord Shiva after marrying Maa Parvati on Maha Shivratri came to Kashi on Falgun Shukla Ekadashi. Hence the day is celebrated as Rangbhari Ekadashi ahead of Holi festival. Maintaining the tradition scores of devotees take part in the celebration. ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ’ฅ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿšฉ
