Lord Krishna is omnipotent, He can appear however He likes, and He does so in unlimited ways in an unlimited number of forms. Krishna means 'all-attractive.' God attracts everyone; that is the definition of 'God.' We have seen many pictures of Krishna, and we see that He attracts the cows, calves, birds, beasts, trees, plants, and even the water in Vrindavana. He is attractive to the cowherd boys, to the gopis, to Nanda Maharaja, to the Pandavas, and to all human society. Therefore if any particular name can be given to God, that name is 'Krishna'. ''The word 'krish' is the attractive feature of the Lord's existence, and 'na' means spiritual pleasure. When the verb 'krish' is added to the affix 'na' it becomes Krishna, which indicates the Absolute Truth.'' ~ Mahabharata . It should be understood that Krishna is a person. He has His likes and dislikes, just as we all do. He likes it when His devotees offer Him things out of love. When He plays in the forest with His friends, He decorates Himself with the feathers left from the peacock. Once Lord Krishna created a wonderful festival in the forest by playing on His flute. In gratitude, the peacocks offered their feathers as dakshina (tribute). They requested the Lord to wear them in His turban and He agreed!
