पौष माह की पूर्णिमा (12/ 01 /2017 ) को मोक्ष की कामना रखने वाले बहुत ही शुभ मानते हैं। क्योंकि इसके बाद माघ महीने की शुरुआत होती है। माघ महीने में किए जाने वाले स्नान की शुरुआत भी पौष पूर्णिमा से ही हो जाती है। मान्यता है कि जो व्यक्ति इस दिन विधिपूर्वक प्रात:काल स्नान करता है वह मोक्ष का अधिकारी होता है। उसे जन्म-मृत्यु के चक्कर से छुटकारा मिल जाता है अर्थात उसकी मुक्ति हो जाती है। चूंकि माघ माह को बहुत ही शुभ व इसके प्रत्येक दिन को मंगलकारी माना जाता है , इसलिए पौष पूर्णिमा से ही जो भी कार्य आरंभ किया जाता है उसे फलदायी माना जाता है। इस दिन स्नान के पश्चात क्षमता अनुसार दान करने का भी महत्व है।

बनारस के दशाश्वमेध घाट व प्रयाग में त्रिवेणी संगम पर पर डुबकी लगाना बहुत ही शुभ व पवित्र माना जाता है। प्रयाग में तो कल्पवास कर लोग माघ माह की पूर्णिमा तक स्नान करते हैं। जो लोग प्रयाग या बनारस तक नहीं जा सकते वे किसी भी पवित्र नदी या सरोवर में स्नान करते हुए प्रयागराज का ध्यान करते हैं !

पौष पूर्णिमा के दिन ही शाकंभरी जयंती भी मनाई जाती है। जैन धर्म के मानने वाले पुष्याभिषेक यात्रा की शुरुआत भी इसी दिन करते हैं। वहीं छत्तीसगढ के ग्रामीण इलाकों में रहने वाले आदिवासी इसी दिन छेरता पर्व भी मनाते हैं।

Paush Purnima, Full Moon Night (12/01/2017) is a significant day in Hindu calendar. It marks the beginning of one month long austerity period which is observed during Magha month. In lunar calendar followed in North India Magha month starts from the next day of Paush Purnima. The holy dip at Dashashwamedh Ghat at Varanasi and Triveni Sangam at Prayag is considered highly auspicious and important on Paush Purnima day. It is believed that the holy dip on the auspicious day of Paush Purnima liberates the soul from the continuous cycle of the birth and the death.

Month of Magha starts from the next day of Paush purnima. During Magha Mahina people take early morning bath in the Ganga or holy river throughout the month. The daily bathing starts from Paush Purnima and ends on Magha Purnima. It is believed that all charity work done during this time are fructified easily. Hence people offer charity to needy according to their capacity.

Shakambari Jayanti is also observed during Paush Purnima. The followers of ISKCON and Vaishnava Sampradaya start Pushyabhishek Yatra on this day.!! 🙏🏻🌕👁📿🐍🌙🐚🔔💀💦🍃🌀🕉🌷✨💫🙏🏻
