DARUVANA- IN THE FOREST OF YOUR MINDS...
“Some of the Rishis had shifted to Daruvana a few years ago. What they had in common, was that they were all married, and all of them built their huts next to each other , forming a sort of private colony. They were very close to each other both in proximity and in way of life”
“Hmm”
“And my Lord these rishis were experimenting voraciously with yantras mantras and their tantras.”
“Hmm” Vishnu punctuated again
“They had reached a stage when they acquired extra ordinary siddhis, magical powers”
“And?”
“And then Shiva visited”
“The rishis wives, who were also always together, had gone to the nearby pine groves, as part of their morning routines..”
“And”
“And Shiva was walking through the very same part of the forest, quite mindlessly, he didn’t seem to know where he was even headed, so lost was he in the memory of Sati. But he stumbled upon the ladies just next to a little waterfall where they were all seated..”
“And?”
“And , my Lord..this is the bizarre part”
“Go ahead, complete your narration” commanded Vishnu
“And the ladies, my Lord, they saw Shiva and started behaving completely insanely, completely out of their minds”
“ I see, what did they do, when they were out of their mind?”
“My Lord they started calling out to Shiva, entreating him to join them in their sports, to partake from their tiffins in his begging bowl. They told him they would feed his body and particularly his parched eyes”
“Ah Shiva, you adorable ascetic, when did you last eat a meal?come we shall feed you” said one woman.
“Ah Shiva adorable yogi , when did you last wear a tigerskin? Come we shall clothe you” said another.
“Ah Shiva, adorable mountain man, when did you last comb you hair?come to us we will wash you and give you a fresh look”
“Ah Shiva, meditator par excellence, when did you last share your great knowledge? Come teach us as we sit at your feet”
“Ladies”, said Shiva “Meals are eaten by those who are hungry, I do not even feel my stomach. Skins are worn by those who need shelter from weather, I do not even feel my body. Fresh looks are dawned by those who have pride in their own being, I do not even know if I exist.”
