Spiritual growth involves giving up the stories of the past, so that the universe can write a new one. Yes, The main paths to spiritual growth and, ultimately awakening or enlightenment, is the acceptance of all things, as they are in this moment. This means bowing to all that is, cultivating equanimity and the wisdom of acknowledging that, “it is the way it is”. This is opposed to pushing reality away, and wanting things to be different than they are. Sticking to the past, lamenting and not moving is the root of so much of our suffering. Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest. Each one of us is struggling to be happy. We try to find measures to avoid suffering. Since this world evolved, each one of us has spent much time and energy improving external conditions in search for happiness and a solution to our problems. But the suffering has increased. We blame the situations when anything goes wrong. But in reality whatever problems we experience come from the mind. There won't be unhappiness and tensions if we respond to the problems with positive and peaceful mind. Problems arise only if we respond to difficulties with a negative state of mind. Spiritual growth is when we learn to tame the mind. Spiritual growth is the process of inner awakening, and becoming conscious of our inner being. It means the rising of the consciousness beyond the ordinary existence, and awakening to some Universal truths. It means going beyond the mind and the ego and realising who you really are!
