It's your Faith and determination.

Let me share this story with you.
I had a business partner from Warangal, Telengana.
When his father first put his mala, one of his grandfather's died suddenly.
The next time his father put his mala, his father died.
So then they didn't go to Sabarimala after that.
Once he told his family about me and my Yatras, and asked their permission to join me, they refused saying that there would be a death in the family if he put the mala.
So I told him to believe & have faith and just come with me. And he came - without a mala. I carried the irrumudi, and he just came as my companion. This is a guy who cannot walk more than 200 m without complaining of pain. He has swellings on both of his knees. His brother and friends challenged me that if I can make him walk at least 1 km at a time without stopping, they would give me a reception at his village .
Not only did I make him walk all around Bangalore, he walked all the from Pandalam to Lahai (along with the Pandalam group;
I was injured that year, so had to take one of the squad cars to Pamba camp) without once even taking a escort car! This was in 2008 and he even talks about his experience even today!
So it's not the mala or the irrumudi or the rituals or the size of the Annadanams or dakshinna that determine your blessings.
It's your Faith and determination.
