A Cloth Painting of Lord Shiva

Photo: Thanks Kumar Aurojyoti for this lovely painting of Lord Shiva from your mandir with the following narration:
A Cloth Painting of Lord Shiva from my personal collection. It adorns the wall of our Puja Room where a Classical Music Class is regularly held. I have an interesting story to tell about this Painting. Once a guest music teacher came to visit our place. He was practicing music by singing film songs with the help of a harmonium in front of this Painting. After sometime suddenly he sang a Shiva Stotra which was so mesmerizing that I could not control tears rolling from my eyes. Then he asked himself why he suddenly sang this Shiva Stotra that too after so many years? He was also surprised that how he could recollect all the words of this lengthy Stotra without fumbling even once? My friend who runs the music class told him that it was because he was sitting in front of Lord Shiva. Then we requested him to again sing that Stotra of the Lord so that we could record it. He agreed reluctantly because he was not sure if he could again sing it effortlessly. Then in the evening we were ready to record the song. The guest music teacher then wrote all the words of the Stotra on a paper so that he would not fumble while singing the song. Then he started to sing. But the performance was below par than the previous one and even the recording showed error!
Now everyone can take their own conclusions from this real incidence. My conclusion was- "The experience between you and your Lord is personal and has a divine touch to it. The moment you try to make it public, it loses its divinity."
May Lord Shiva bless you all....Om Namah Shivaya!!
